Whats up dreamers?
I tried the WBTB method for the first time last night. I think i may have been lucid (my recall is too hazy). I had a crazy dream that some gangster was bashing on my front door. So immediately i grabbed a metal pole and ran to the door, opened it and smashed him on the skull (first hint of lucidity as i wouldnt react that quickly IRL) but then he seemed unaffected, grabbed the pole of me and chased me into the house. I jumped over the kitchen counter, grabbing a knife as i did. i turned around and jammed it into his chest. Again, unaffected! He seemed to be a really poor fighter because it was easy to block all his attempts at hitting me.
I stabbed him at least 5 times with no effect, so i jammed it into his neck, then yanked the knife up and down until his head came off (very bloody) (This is another hint of lucidity as my focus on one task was weird, and i seemed to have a care-free, calmness about the intense situation. I have never experienced this before. Also, as i was stabbing him, the backround seemed to go out of focus, change colour and swirl....trippy) I then just ran out to get the rest of his buddies that were waiting outside, but they ran away. Thats all i remember before waking.
Any comments on how lucid this seemed would be sick, i hope im getting closer to LD's.
-Cheers.

Hey, yesterday I remembered another WBTB-related method that I have tried before, but which will be more affective if I use my dim light.
It involves lying on your side and counting the fingers on your hand. Leave your hand there and close your eyes again, but then try to remember to do it again a short while later. Keep doing this every few minutes, as you gradually become more and more sleepy.
I remember trying this a couple of years ago whilst lying in the dark, and could only just see my fingers. Now, with my dim light, this should work perfectly if I practice it enough!
I tried it last night, and although I didn't go lucid, I did have a vivid dream that I remember bits of. It seams like a nice easy method really, because you just lie in the same position and just try to keep remembering to open your eyes and count your fingers. The plan is, hopefully if you do it enough times before you get too sleepy, you will then be stuck in that pattern of doing it as you get more sleepy, and then eventually you'll be looking at your dream hand and it will have the wrong number of fingers.

I think I'll try that I use the hand RC a lot.
Since putting the clocks back the other day, I keep automatically waking up an hour early, which i don't really like on work days. But it's given me a few extra vivid dreams

I`ve done autosuggestion for WBTB some time now .
BUT I never think that I have slept while waking up.
I just roll over and think that it is time to fall asleep .
"Oh my I am going to get sleepy tomorrow ! "..............
And after some time I go like "hey ! that was a dream wasn`t it ?, I have slept ! ...."and see my phone and understand it.
This night were I going to write down my dreams and after having finished that , I were so awake that I couldn`t sleep in a long time !
Any tips ?

I set my alarm for half an hour earlier than usual this morning. I was going to use the time for better DR because I am usually rushed in the morning and forget my dreams. But this morning i was in and out of sleep, and half an hour later it felt like i just woke up 5 seconds ago. I almost WILDed, and I remembered a lot of my dream.

I was hungover this morning and got up for over an hour and drank some water, bathroom, tylenol, whatever and then I felt so bad that I decided to return to bed and ended up having another LD! It was pretty long and I kept having false awakings and then would discover I was still dreamin.
It was pretty fun. I didn't try to remember it, but I estimate that I recognized I was dreaming at least 4 times, which is cool because it's proof I'm gettting better at it.
Everything I realise I'm dreaming now I just float a few feet off the ground.
WBTB effin rules!

Last night I tried WBTB for the first time after starting a DJ a few weeks ago. I went to sleep some time after 11PM and set my alarm for 4AM. After waking up I stayed awake for slightly under an hour and tried going to sleep using the Suneye method, after not being able to go to sleep for a while I gave up and just decided to lay there without trying any method. After wating for a while I fell asleep and had a series of short dreams that included one low level lucid dream, at least two false awakenings, twice waking up with sleep paralysis and a few very vivid dreams.
I'm definitely going to try again tonight, maybe I can get a more vivid lucid dream.

Awesome Tag_One, sounds like WBTB could be a really good tech for you!
I'm done this semester of college, so tomorrow I have nothing to do, which means WBTB

I tried to do a MWILD last night, but I fell asleep. So, in the morning I did a WBTB (which is nothing new to me--I've always been better at this method) and had an LD--I couldn't change anything, just think and control my movements (like IRL)--the sex was nice, though . It seems that the subconscious has a knack for making every girl yo find attractive in a dream, attracted to you (though I have no problems IRL, it's just better in a LD).

*** MODERATOR ALERT ***
I know this post should be inserted in the "wake-back-to-bed" post but I can't find it. Help!

As I bring my dreaming routines back online I notice that the sleep transfer method (WBTB) creates a vivd dream following its use but the dreams following it tend to diminish in their vividness.
I feel that the sleep transfer method gets riskier as the sleeping period continues because it can be hard or impossible to actually get back to sleep.
Has anyone had success with using sleep transfer multiple times during the period of sleep?
If so, how do you deal with difficulty in returning to sleep?
I am thinking of trying it because I think it might work to make all dreams more vivid from first waking up.

WBTB method needs to be adjusted to the person. You got to play with it a bit.
While its core version is "sleep 6 hours, stay up an hour or so, go back to bed" only "go back to bed" part is same for everyone:)
See what works for you- sometimes its better to stay up only few minutes, sometimes over an hour.
Also how long you sleep before 6 hours here is average but almost allways needs adjusting(key here is to wake up during 2nd or 3rd or any REM so you can slip back to it).
Remember that the more you`re in sleep debt the sooner REM starts- this is why afternoon naps are great.
good luck

Well due to frustration I am going to implement what I will call successive sleep transfer where I will wake up as close to every REM period of sleep if possible.
I like your idea of lessening the time you remain awake.
I do my first sleep transfer at 4 hours of sleep and then every time I wake up from there.
The first one is 30 mins. From there I will probably do only 15 mins or maybe 10.
Some activities I will do in these wakeful periods will be:
1) Dream mandala meditation -- http://ld4all.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15843
2) Hatha yoga -- I will start with the headstand. If I get results I'll post how it is done.
I think this should help as it should inevitably create higher awareness during the night's dreams.
I'll keep you posted here.

Well starting out my 1st sleep transfer worked great it produced a vivd dream with a dreaming cue.
I didn't become lucid though and rather than curse the rest of my sleep to unconsciousness, I did a second sleep transfer for about 10 mins.
I felt like I was on my way to a LD but each time I would start to fall asleep something would wake me up.
I literally spent hours trying to fall asleep.
I think I am on to something but I've got to deal with that terrible delay in getting back to sleep.
Hopefully just the habit of successive sleep tranfers will overcome it.
