How to Choose Your Technique

thanks im a high motivated/slow sleeper but whenever i wake up at 4 in the morning i want to do nothin but go back to sleep so i think wbtb would be good for me too.

Wow this guy is pretty useful, I shall read it again from time to time.

Hey thanks for creating this guide. It really helps out and know I know some techniques for Lucid Dreaming! :ok:

Great guide. i hope it works
But a small question…

if u see a movie that u like and want to live… what do u do thendo u use some cind of WILD or WBTB then mixing them like laying down and seeing the movie (in ur head) while saying (in ur head) I’m dreaming-I’m … (name of a thing/charackter in the movie that u want to be…) is that going to work?..’'im not so experienced

Well you could become lucid first and THEN go to your movie scene. Doing the WILD/WBTB techs could probably make you dream about them, but you’d have to make sure to realize the fact that it was a dream though. RC as much as possible and it ought to go a bit smoother.

Man thats an awesome guide …i hope this is going to induce my first LD. :cool_laugh:
Hopefully all the inexperienced get to read this guide :content:
Great work

Great guide man its a must-read for LD fan.

thx for compacting all that info into one easy to read post. It gets me excited to start trying to trying to stimulate my own LD’s :cool_laugh:

Nice little article

Just one question though, how you do know if you fall asleep fast or slow ? I mean, I don’t take an hour to fall asleep, but I’m not like my dad who can fall asleep within two minutes (seriously !).

I normally fall asleep within five to ten minutes, depending on how sleepy I am and the amount of distraction around me (noises coming from outside or other rooms in the house, light suddenly shining in my room, etc). But is that fast or slow ?

That’s pretty fast, JPeetje. I wouldn’t consider you slow to fall asleep, especially considering the fact that I often take between 30 and 45 minutes to fall asleep, except for when I’m really tired.

A truely excellent guide. I’d say I fall under “high motivation, takes a long time to fall asleep” so I’m going to focus on MILD. It usually takes me an hour - an hour.5 to fall asleep but I am highly motivated.

Although since I’m new at this I should probably try out other techniques at the same time.

I love the guide. Thank you. I’d be a fast/high motivated. I hate it when I fall asleep before I relize. I’m going to try your teqnique. Thanks again!

Hey GREAT guide man! I am pretty much a noob and am incredibly greatful somebody answerd a question I had for some time with such great detail and intuitive-ness! Thanx!

I like the guide, but I’m unsure where I would fit in. I’m quite confident and motivated. I take quite a while to fall asleep but when I do MILD I find that I can’t keep my conciousness awake long enough to get to the barrier.

You don’t have to keep MILD up until you fall asleep. It helps if you can, but you do not have to. The longer you do keep MILD up, though, the more likely you probably are to have a lucid dream (this is straight from EWLD, I believe). This is something that can be worked on through practice.

When I want to LD, I normally do WBTB combined with MILD. But MILD is such a powerful technique that it alone is sometimes enough. Simply setting your intention to wake up in the middle of the night can get you up if you are well rested.

Oh, I’ll try that tonight. I may not be able to get up though since I can never get my body to get off my bed when I’m tired.

I was briefly taught how to LD last summer by my camp counselor, and the day after I got back, I went out and got LaBerge’s book. For the rest of the summer I tried and tried to do it, but I just couldn’t. Although I did have one short, very brief moment in which I was aware I was dreaming, I soon woke up and this was as far as I went. School started soon after this and I don’t want to say that I lost interest, but I didn’t have the time. Recently I’ve been trying to get back into it (keeping a dream journal, putting a reality check reminder on my cell phone, etc.) and I was just wondering if anyone can give me some tips for WILD, reality testing, and just making it happen in general. Thanks a lot.

im usually out within 5 mins, so im not sure WILD would be much good for me, i just go to bed and fall asleep so easily. WBTB would be good for me, cos i like going on the internet early in the morning :cheesy:]]

I’ve been following by this and ackk! Its alot of work. Im going to keep going at it but its almost as if when I forget it, things improve. Trying too hard can really mess things up I guess.

I fall asleep slowly (unless I’m really tired) and I’ve been trying WILD for a while.
