Messing with DREAM CHARACTERS (DS's)

oh i’m gonna make DCs with personalities and such and the when we are conversing make stuff happens…

like a movie… but your In the movie and control what happens :ebil:

I was in a hot tub with at least 8 DC’s. I was like, ok this should be fun, and I taught them how to play a fun Celebrity Game. It worked, they caught on, and we played this word game for a little while until I was bored.

One of my contacts fell out of my eye and a DC picked it up and said, “Here, I’ll help you.” As I reached out my hand to retrieve it from him, he shoved it into his eye and started screaming like he was on fire.

Last night a DC assured me I was dreaming and told me to do a reality check. I told it that I wasn’t dreaming and did a reality check to prove it wrong. Somehow I managed to do so even though the DC came in through a wall and my watch looked nothing like it normally does.

I’m kicking myself now.

How can I get myself to pay more attention to my DC’s?

I personally cannot remember any conversations with my DC s…
But I have a theory about them.

From what I’ve seen on this topic, there is a consensus that DC s are stupider in LD s. If you consider the fact that, consciously or not, your brain is controlling everything that goes on in your brain, and the fact that everyone has limited brainpower, then you’ll see why LD DC s are stupider than ND DC s. When you are in a normal dream you are not really controlling anything consciously, so your subconscious has free reign, and you don’t have to script everything done. When you are in an LD however your conscious brain is more active and therefore your subconscious is less active, permitting it to do less complex tasks. So if you are in an LD and your conscious is controlling the surroundings, some cool power that you just figured out you could do, and your movements, your brain will have less power to subconsciously script a DC’s response to your conversation. (On a side note I think that that is also the reason for daydreams being so hazy: your brain is using up 95% of your brain while you are awake). So I think that the people who get intelligent answers from a DC are either consciously making the DC say what they want or have an extreme amount of brainpower or are having a particularly low-lucidity dream.

The only time that I have ever had an LD where I had a semi-intelligent conversation with a DC was during a series of recurring dreams that I had when I was 5 where my sister and I mysteriously became orphaned and were running around the city. During one of the later dreams a friend of my mom rolled by the diner where my sister and I were eating. We asked her what happened to my mother and she was about to say that my mom died, but I semi-lucidly made her say that my mom was in the hospital with a broken leg. I love tangents.

Hahahaha you guys do some funny and tormenting stuff

Haha! In my lucid once, I was flying and I crashlanded in a world full of people with cat-ears, tails, and engelic wings… people were walking by and I was panicked cause I felt stranded, (not very logical, even when I realise I can’t get hurt) so I felt a need to convince them I made them (they came from my head, at least), so they had to help me. So I followed two girls that walked by and I said:

“Hey! I made you! please help me!”

them:…whatever…O-o; walks around

[oh no, they think I’m crazy-- WAIT I made them! they HAVE to believe me I can MAKE them! :D~! ]
Oh yeah! well! Lookit this then!

So I step inbetween them and I’m like

Here! I’ll show you!

I make a gold box, jewlery, then a nice looking BOY Cat-angel person inbetween them. and as they were like ‘Wow’ I realised, Oh hey! if I can do that, I don’t need your help anyways!

And the DCs stared, and I weirded them out with my supa-powers. Yus. XDD

Unfortunately, the majority of appealing DCs that I have encountered have been in NDs. It’s odd, whenever I am lucid in a populated environment(like my favorite, college), the DCs seem to ignore me, shuffling by oblivious to my presence. The last time I was there I followed a girl who was on her way to class, I told her it was useless, that this was only a dream. Her reply? “who cares, now leave me alone.”

Something amazing happened in that last LD though, I ran into a girl who I was friends with in high school(she moved away)…and I could smell her hair. That might sound strange, but when I knew her, her hair always smelled very nice(a fruity, pleaseant smell) and I always noticed it. When she walked by there was no mistaking it :notify: , I knew immediately who it was.

I thought that was very interesting since I’ve never experienced smells in a dream, and the fact that I knew that smell so well, it was almost surreal. They say that smells provoke the most vivid memories, apparently this is very true for my subconscious… :look:

That’s awesome, I think I am going to also test all my senses… Such as touching the water, and touching fire and stuff. But experiment with all of the senses.

A lot of my DCs tend to just fade away if I tell them that they were part of a dream  They’ll just slowly fade away while in contemplation over their existence. It’s rather saddening to watch because there’s nothing you can do once they start fading away.
But some manage to stay after I tell them.

 My DCs are also easy to persuade when offered a wheel of cheese–they’ll do anything for a wheel of cheese!

When I try to make clones of myself–they tend to go bad :eh:

When DCs see me for the first time (in my cyberninja powersuit) they think I’m some automaton or robot

I’ve lost quite a few DCs to my portal experiments
They tend to get chewed up by the portal and than spat out back at me and the rest of the DCs around the portal. Eww… messy…

My fav so far was when I decided to decimate dream characters by killing them - used psychokinesis to cause a stroke in each one - really fun to just watch them drop like flies. U have to concentrate on a blood vessel in their head.

My best DC so far was a total intelligent - was female - announced herself as my subconscious without me even asking. But you need a bit of background - that night I was in bed with a new girl and so was dreaming of sex with her in previous dreams. All that day I was wondering about the girl -
how much she really likes me if at all. So back to the dream - the subconscious DC gave me advice about the girl - really good advice. I hope to be able to see this DC again so can have more advice but I havent seen her since. Was a totally awesome experience.

I’m usually rather nice to all DC’s. If I mess with them, it’s usually something minor. Like teleporting right behind them or making them float a meter above the ground. And this one time I jumped from high buildings and made a V-sign everytime people were looking through a window.

One of the most intelligent DCs always says I shouldn’t use my powers like that. He think it isn’t wise to show my powers to others and I think he may be right. Last night, some evil scientists thought I would make a good guineapig. I showed them though, they shouldn’t mess with someone would could turn them into trees. Okay, I didn’t really do that, I just made them float in the air, so they couldn’t get near me.

The things my DCs say are usually coherent, but some DC’s are still rather stupid. For instance, I once met a group environmental activists and I had to explain to them what the greenhouse effect was. Some of the things they said are only funny in Dutch though:
Question: Does the production of vlaaien* have any effect on the greenhouse effect?
Answer: Yes, koeienvlaaien** contain methane.

*a kind of pastry
**cowpoo

lol, in my first, and only ld, it was like in an interview room, so i decided to interview this random dc, sitting down on the interview seat, lol. First i told it was dreaming it said, “dont i look real enough for you?” then i kept on asking it random questions, there responses were all in jiberish, lol

The first time I told my “Mom” that she was in my dream, she believed me, but didn’t really care

I remember once trying to turn a Ronaldinho Gaucho DC into a girl. It didn’t work quite well, so he ended up with a girl’s body and his normal head. He started to panic and yell

Dream characters does allways wanna kill me, but i kill them
first with my amazing fighting skills.

rofl.

there are some funny posts in this thread.
thats interesting about the smell thing, i can’t remember if i’ve ever smelt stuff, will have to try it out.

My DC’s usually just follow the plot, like actors all doing their part in a movie, they all seem to have average IQ, but some seem to be really smart and i even learn things off them that i would never think of in real life. When i try to tell them its a dream, they usually don’t believe me and change the subject, other times they will believe me and ask me questions regarding it. I have also had interesting DC’s that I believe were my subconscious, they know full well its a dream, and often help me with things and have lucid powers.

If DC’s are trying to kill me then I will either demanifest them so they completely disappear, or stop their hearts from beating, or lift them into the air using telekinesis so they can’t do anything, or I will just yell out STOP or FREEZE and time will stop and i’m able to get out of the situation. Other times I will just fly away or teleport. If i’m having a really distressing dream though then I will just close my eyes and force myself awake.

My DCs are usually pretty nice, although if I ask them to help me ar all, they’re pretty much useless. I spent most of last night trying to get DCs of my friends and one teacher to help me get a favorite DC back. When I tried to get them to stand in a circle with me and picture him in the middle, one of them spun around and tangled our arms all up, and when I asked one to hold up a blanket so I could imagine the DC under it and make him appear, she turned it into a skirt, then a giant banana peel, and finally a small box that said character would never be able to fit into. The whole time she kept giving me weird looks about the things I was telling her to do, until finally I gave up and yelled, “This is MY lucid dream! Do what I tell you!” She just gave me the look again, so I stuck my hand right through a cardboard box. “See?” I said. “Oh,” she said. “I guess you’re right.”

I’m usually nice to them 'cause that’s the point, to get them to help you in your dreaming. They know a lot of people and I sometimes hear them talking some pretty bad stuff about others that played games with them. They memory is hudge and even if you hide, in any way, they still know it was you.

A few nights ago I had a LD where I asked this person if I was dreaming and they replied Yes. It was so neat.
