A song by a genius

As soon as you’re born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you’re clever and they despise a fool
Till you’re so fucking crazy you can’t follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they’ve tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can’t really function you’re so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you’re so clever and class less and free
But you’re still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There’s room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

Kenji by Fort Minor

My father came from Japan in 1905
He was 15 when he immigrated from Japan
He worked until he was able to buy respect and build a store

Let me tell you the story in the form of a dream,
I don’t know why I have to tell it but I know what it means,
Close your eyes, just picture the scene,
As I paint it for you, it was World War II,
When this man named Kenji woke up,
Ken was not a soldier,
He was just a man with a family who owned a store in LA,
That day, he crawled out of bed like he always did,
Bacon and eggs with wife and kids,
He lived on the second floor of a little store he ran,
He moved to LA from Japan,
They called him ‘Immigrant,’
In Japanese, he’d say he was called “Issei,”
That meant ‘First Generation In The United States,’
When everybody was afraid of the Germans, afraid of the Japs,
But most of all afraid of a homeland attack,
And that morning when Ken went out on the doormat,
His world went black ‘cause,
Right there; front page news,
Three weeks before 1942,
"Pearl Harbour’s Been Bombed And The Japs Are Comin’,"
Pictures of soldiers dyin’ and runnin’,
Ken knew what it would lead to,
Just like he guessed, the President said,
“The evil Japanese in our home country will be locked away,”
They gave Ken, a couple of days,
To get his whole life packed in two bags,
Just two bags, couldn’t even pack his clothes,
Some folks didn’t even have a suitcase, to pack anything in,
So two trash bags is all they gave them,
When the kids asked mom “Where are we goin’?”
Nobody even knew what to say to them,
Ken didn’t wanna lie, he said “The US is lookin’ for spies,
So we have to live in a place called Manzanar,
Where a lot of Japanese people are,”
Stop it don’t look at the gunmen,
You don’t wanna get the soldiers wonderin’,
If you gonna run or not,
'Cause if you run then you might get shot,
Other than that try not to think about it,
Try not to worry ‘bout it; bein’ so crowded,
Someday we’ll get out, someday, someday.

As soon as war broke out
The F.B.I. came and they just come to the house and
“You have to come”
“All the Japanese have to go”
They took Mr. Ni
People didn’t understand
Why did they have to take him?
Because he’s an innocent laborer

So now they’re in a town with soldiers surroundin’ them,
Every day, every night look down at them,
From watch towers up on the wall,
Ken couldn’t really hate them at all;
They were just doin’ their job and,
He wasn’t gonna make any problems,
He had a little garden with vegetables and fruits that,
He gave to the troops in a basket his wife made,
But in the back of his mind, he wanted his families life saved,
Prisoners of war in their own damn country,
What for?
Time passed in the prison town,
He wanted them to live it down when they were free,
The only way out was joinin’ the army,
And supposedly, some men went out for the army, signed on,
And ended up flyin’ to Japan with a bomb,
That 15 kilotonne blast, put an end to the war pretty fast,
Two cities were blown to bits; the end of the war came quick,
Ken got out, big hopes of a normal life, with his kids and his wife,
But, when they got back to their home,
What they saw made them feel so alone,
These people had trashed every room,
Smashed in the windows and bashed in the doors,
Written on the walls and the floor,
“Japs not welcome anymore.”
And Kenji dropped both of his bags at his sides and just stood outside,
He, looked at his wife without words to say,
She looked back at him wiping tears away,
And, said “Someday we’ll be OK, someday,”
Now the names have been changed, but the story’s true,
My family was locked up back in '42,
My family was there it was dark and damp,
And they called it an internment camp

When we first got back from camp… uh
It was… pretty… pretty bad

I, I remember my husband said
“Are we gonna stay 'til last?”
Then my husband died before they close the camp.

Time - Pink Floyd

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

shine on you crazy diamond
Pink Floyd, in their progressive period

remember when you were young,
and you shone like the sun?

shine on, you crazy diamond!

now there’s a look in your eyes:
like black holes in the sky.

shine on, you crazy diamond!

you were caught on the cross fire
of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.

come on, you target,
for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger,
you legend, you martyr, and shine! you reached for the secret too soon,
— you cried for the moon.

shine on, you crazy diamond!

treatened by shadows at night
(and exposed in the light).

shine on, you crazy diamond!

well you wore out your welcome
with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.

come on you raver,
you seer of visions,
come on you painter,
you piper, you prisoner, and shine! nobody knows where you are,
how near or how far.

shine on, you crazy diamond!

pile on many more layers and
i’ll be joining you there.

shine on, you crazy diamond!

and we’ll bask in the shadow
of yesterday’s triumph,
and sail on the steel breeze.

come on you boy child,
you winner and loser,
come on you miner
for truth and delusion, and shine! they’re so good it’s almost embarrassing. :expressionless:

Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven
I’ll find my way, through night and day
Cause I know I just can’t stay
Here in heaven

Time can bring you down
Time can bend your knee
Time can break your heart
Have you begging please
Begging please

(instrumental)

Beyond the door
There’s peace I’m sure.
And I know there’ll be no more…
Tears in heaven

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven

Those last two songs are amazing bruno and WCH.

Wonderful Tonight - Clapton

It’s late in the evening
She’s wondering what clothes to wear
She puts on her make up
And brushes her long blonde hair
And then she asks me
Do I look alright
And I say yes, you look wonderful tonight

We go a party
And everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady
That’s walking around with me
And then she asks me
Do you feel alright
And I say yes, I feel wonderful tonight

I feel wonderful
Because I see the love light in your eyes
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just don’t realize
How much I love you

It’s time to go home now
And I’ve got an aching head
So I give her the car keys
She helps me to bed
And then I tell her
As I turn out the light
I say my darling, you were wonderful tonight
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight

Across the Universe

Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world

Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world

I’m Not Jesus by Apocalyptica feat Corey Taylor

Dirty little secret
Dirty little lies
Say your prayers and comb your hair
Save your soul tonight

Drift among the faithful
Bury your desires
Aberrations fill your head
You need a place to hide
And I am

Do you remember me?
And the kid I used to be?
Do you remember me?

[Chorus:]
When your world’s come crashing down
I want to be there.
Your god is looking down on me!
I’m not Jesus,
Jesus wasn’t there!

You could confess it all away,
But it’s only sh*t to me
Your god ain’t looking down on me!
I’m not Jesus,
I will not forgive!

No I won’t! [2x]

I’ve thought you were a good man,
I’ve thought you talked to god.
Your hippocratic messiah and child abusive turned satanic.

Do you remember me?
Do you remember me?
And the kid I used to be?
Do you remember?
Do you remember?

[Chorus:]
When your own world comes undone,
Let me be the one to say:
I’m not Jesus,
You can’t run away!

And the innocence you spoil
Find a way to live
Your god is looking down on me!
I’m not Jesus
I will not forgive!

I won’t forgive.
I won’t be whatever you want to.
[2x]

Do you remember me?
And the kid I used to be?
Not the same as I used to be!
Oh, do you remember me?

No!

[Chorus:]
When your world’s come crashing down,
I want to be there
Your god is looking down on me
I’m not Jesus
Jesus wasn’t there!

You could confess it all away,
But it’s only sh*t to me!
Your god is looking down on me!
I’m not Jesus,
I will not,
I’m not Jesus,
I will not forgive!

Oh, I will not forgive, yeah yeah!
No, I will not forgive!

Docking Bay 94 from Star Wars: The Musical

Han Solo:
Here I am, once again,
in docking bay 94.

Aw, Chewie.

There’s this kid.
His name is Luke,
and he’s got a dream.
But dreams come crashing down
like the tide on the shore.

So it is, and shall be,
in docking bay 94.

The other passengers enter.

C-3P0:
It’s the song of a droid.

Solo:
It’s the song of a man.

Luke Skywalker:
Where I am going is not where
I’ve been.

Obi-Wan Kenobi:
It’s more than a place,
it’s a hope in your heart.
It’s here it begins
and here’s where it starts.

Solo:
In docking bay 94.

Skywalker:
It’s the song of a people
who long to be free.
I’ll fight alongside them,
yes, there will I be.

Kenobi:
There’s a war 'mongst the stars
that’s been coming for years.
The fight against evil,
it grows ever near.

C-3P0:
It’s the song of a droid.

Kenobi:
It’s the song of the Force.

C-3P0:
Where we are going - we don’t
have a choice.

Kenobi:
It’s more than a place,
it’s a hope in your heart.
It’s here it begins
and here’s where it starts.

Skywalker:
All my friends have left
this place - gone so far
out into space.
That is where I long to be -
flying around - alive and free!

C-3P0:
It’s more than a place,
it’s a hope in their hearts.
It’s here it begins
and here’s where it starts.

Kenobi:
These are the star wars
that they will speak of
when they remember
all of us here.

All:
In docking bay 94.

pus no olhos vidros pra poder melhor te enxergar.
luz nos olhos para anoitecer, é só você se afastar.
pinta os lábios para escrever: “a tua boca é minha!”
que a nossa música eu fiz agora, lá fora a lua irradia a glória.

e eu te chamo! eu te peço, vem!
diga que você me quer,
porque eu te quero também.

faço as pazes lembrando,
passo as tardes tentando lhe telefonar.
cartazes te procurando,
aeronaves seguem pousando sem você desembarcar
pra eu te dar a mão nessa hora, levar as malas pro Fusca lá fora.

e eu vou guiando. eu te espero, vem!
siga aonde vão meus pés,
porque eu te sigo também.

eu te amo! eu te peço, vem!
diga que você me quer
porque eu te quero também.

Idiots are taking over - NOFX

It’s not the right time to be sober
now the idiots have taken over
spreading like a social cancer, is there an answer?

Mensa membership conceding
tell me why and how are all the stupid people breeding
Watson, it’s really elementary
the industrial revolution
has flipped the bitch on evolution
the benevolent and wise are being thwarted, ostracized, what a bummer
the world keeps getting dumber
insensitivity is standard and faith is being fancied over reason

darwin’s rollin over in his coffin
the fittest are surviving much less often
now everything seems to be reversing, and it’s worsening
someone flopped a steamer in the gene pool
now angry mob mentality’s no longer the exception, it’s the rule
and im startin to feel a lot like charlton heston
stranded on a primate planet
apes and orangutans that ran it to the ground
with generals and the armies that obeyed them
followers following fables
philosophies that enable them to rule without regard

there’s no point for democracy when ignorance is celebrated
political scientists get the same one vote as some Arkansas inbred
majority rule, don’t work in mental institutions
sometimes the smallest softest voice carries the grand biggest solutions

what are we left with?
a nation of god-fearing pregnant nationalists
who feel it’s their duty to populate the homeland
pass on traditions
how to get ahead religions
And prosperity via simpleton culture

the idiots are takin over

Cold Turkey - John
In this song he is describing himself getting off heroin.

Temperatures rising
Fever is high
Cant see no future
Cant see no sky

My feet are so heavy
So is my head
I wish I was a baby
I wish I was dead

Cold turkey has got me on the run

My body is aching
Goose-pimple bone
Cant see no body
Leave me alone

My eyes are wide open
Cant get to sleep
One thing Im sure of
Im in at the deep freeze

Cold turkey has got me on the run

Cold turkey has got me on the run

Thirty-six hours
Rolling in pain
Praying to someone
Free me again

Oh Ill be a good boy
Please make me well
I promise you anything
Get me out of this hell

Cold turkey has got me on the run
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Share the land - The Guess Who
Have you been around?
Have you done your share a-coming down
Of different things that people do

Have you been aware?
You got brothers and sisters who care
About what’s gonna happen to you
In a year from now

Maybe I’ll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby, I’ll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they’ll be givin’ away
When we oughta live together
I’m talkin’ bout together, now

Maybe I’ll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby, I’ll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they’ll be givin’ away
When we oughta live together
We’re talkin’ bout together, now

(guitars)

Did you pay your dues?
Did you read the news
This morning when the paper landed in your yard?
Do you know their names?
Can you play their games
Without losin’ track, and comin’ down a bit too, hard?

Oh, maybe I’ll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby, I’ll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they’ll be givin’ away
When we oughta live together
We’re, talkin’ bout together, now

Maybe I’ll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby, I’ll be there to share the land
That they’d be givin’ away
When we oughta live together
We’re talkin’ bout together, now

(guitars)

Mmm, maybe I’ll be there to shake your hand
(Shake you hand)
Baby, I’ll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they’ll be givin’ away
When we oughta live together
We’re talkin’ bout together, now

Maybe I’ll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Maybe I’ll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they’ll be givin’ away
When we oughta live together
Together, together

(Shake your hand)

You know I’ll be standin’ by
(Share the land)
To hold you if you worry
(Shake your hand)
No more sadness, no more sorrow
(Share the land)
And no more bad times
(Shake your hand)
Everyday comin’ sunshine
(Share the land)
Everyday, everybody laughin’

(Shake your hand)
Walkin’ together by the river
(Share the land)
Walkin’ together and laughin’
(Shake your hand)
Everybody singin’ together
(Share the land)
Everybody singin’ and laughin’

(Shake your hand)
Good times, good times
(Share the land)
Everybody, walkin’ by the river, now
(Shake your hand)
Walkin’, singin’, talkin’
(Share the land)
Smilin’, laughin’, diggin’ each other
(Shake your hand)

Everybody happy, together
(Share the land)
I’ll be there to worry if you need-a me
(Shake your hand)
Call on me, call on me
(Share the land)
Call my name, I’ll be runnin’ to help you

FADES-
(Shake your hand)
Everybody, walkin’ by the river, now
(Share the land)
Every night, everybody laughin’
(Shake your hand)
Everybody singin’ n’ talkin’
(Share the land)
Smilin’, laughin’, diggin’ each other
(Share).

Far Away - Nickelback

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there’s just one left
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

On my knees, I’ll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you, I’d withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I’d give it all
I’d give for us
Give anything but I won’t give up
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you’ll be with me
and you’ll never go
Stop breathing if
I don’t see you anymore

So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I’m not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
'Cause I’m not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and, never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and, never let me go

Signs - 5 man elecrtical band

And the sign said “Long-haired freaky people need not apply”
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said “You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you’ll do”
So I took off my hat, I said “Imagine that. Huh! Me workin’ for you!”
Whoa-oh-oh

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

And the sign said anybody caught trespassin’ would be shot on sight
So I jumped on the fence and-a yelled at the house,
“Hey! What gives you the right?”
“To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in”
“If God was here he’d tell you to your face, Man, you’re some kinda sinner”

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

Now, hey you, mister, can’t you read?
You’ve got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat
You can’t even watch, no you can’t eat
You ain’t supposed to be here
The sign said you got to have a membership card to get inside
Ugh!

And the sign said, “Everybody welcome. Come in, kneel down and pray”
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all,
I didn’t have a penny to pay
So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said, “Thank you, Lord, for thinkin’ ‘bout me.
I’m alive and doin’ fine.”
Wooo!

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin’ out the scenery, breakin’ my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Sign
Sign, sign

Panic at the disco - Build god then we’ll talk. [Written from memory]

Its these substandard motels on the lalalalala, corner of fourth and fremont street.
Appealing only 'cause theyre just that unappealing
Any practised catholic would, cross themselves upon entering.
The rooms have a hint of asbestos and just a dash of phermaldehide.
And the habit of decomposing right before your very lalalala eyes.
Along with the people inside…

What a wonderful, caricature of intimacy.
Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy.

Tonights tennants range from a lawyer and a virgin,
Accesorising with a rosery, tucked inside her lingerie.
Shes getting a job at the firm come monday
The Mrs will stay with the cheating attorney
Moonlighting aside, she really needs his money
A wonderful caricature of intimacy
yeaah
And, not to mention
The constable and his proposition for that “Virgin” yes,
The one the lawyer met with on “Strictly Business”,
As he said to the Mrs.
Well only hours before, after he had left,
She was fixing her face in a compact
There was a terrible crash
There was a terrible crash
Between her and the bag
she spilt her purse and her badge
And now the purse of a different kind…
Along with the people inside

What a wonderful, caricature of intimacy
Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy

There are no…
Raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses
Its sleeping with roaches and taking best guesses
Shadow the sheets and before all the stains
and a few more of your least favourite things.

Raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses
Its sleeping with roaches and taking best guesses
Shadow the sheets and before all the stains
and a few more of your least favourite things.

Inside, what a wonderful caricature of, intimacy,
Inside what a wonderful caricature of, initmacy

Ramble on - Led Zeppelin
Some LOTR in here

Leaves are falling all around,
Its time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, Im much obliged
For such a pleasant stay.

But now its time for me to go,
The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain,
And with it pain,
And its headed my way.
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired,
But I know Ive got one thing I got to do,

Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now
To sing my song.
Im goin round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
Ive been this way ten years to the day, ramble on,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Got no time to for spreadin roots,
The time has come to be gone.
And tho our health we drank a thousand times,
Its time to ramble on.

Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now
To sing my song.
Im goin round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
Ive been this way ten years to the day, ramble on,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

I aint tellin no lie.

Mines a tale that cant be told,
My freedom I hold dear;
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air,
Twas in the darkest depths of mordor
I met a girl so fair,
But gollum, and the evil one crept up
And slipped away with her.
Her, her…yea.
Aint nothing I can do, no.

Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now
To sing my song.
Im goin round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
Ive been this way ten years to the day, ramble on,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Gonna ramble on, sing my song
Gotta keep-a-searchin for my baby…
Gonna work my way, round the world
I cant stop this feelin in my heart
Gotta keep searchin for my baby
I cant find my bluebird!
Id listen to my bluebird sing but I cant find my blue bird
A-keep-a ramblin baby…

Ah, thats what i thought.

Right, i know you dont like ‘linkin park’ but its not really the song that has a strong message, its the video.

I suggest you search for linkin park - what ive done on youtube, and if you have the official music video for it, watch it.

Its very moving, i must say. and if any song has a meaning, this one does. Opens your eyes abit.

Let me know if you watched it please :spinning:

I’ve have seen it
