Different styles of flying

I fly mostly by using imagination, its really good after you get few reference experiences.

i have a cool idea, next time your lucid, and instead of transforming into and animal, imagine yourself with wings! customize the wings like angelwings, dragonwings, birdwings, also kinda like “celestial wings”, like floating pieces of metal…not sure how to explain it except the angel on the cover of the game P.R.E.Y. she has peices of metal in the shapes of wings that kind of stay in place while shes standing, thier kinda sharp and float in midair  and then imagin yourself with wings like that, and see if it works! sounds like a really cool idea, but im a noobie, and im still trying to remember full-legnth dreams, so i cant try it out

ive found, through the forums, that when somebody flies wayyyyyyyyyy to high, that they “fall” awake! they fly to high, feel something like being slammed into the ground, then wake up.(ive heard that the being slammed into the ground feeling is your astral body being jerked into your normal self.)so a tip to all flyers! NEVER fly too high into the air, unless your willing to be woken up from an LD (i know i wouldnt try it)so if you like to fly high, make sure you can see the buildings pretty well, and if your scared of hights, make sure your in a dream by using an RC or two, then use a flying technique to fly high, since your in a dream, no need to fear hights, becouse if you fall, youll just wake up (i may be a noob, but i know alot about LD’s  )

if you find your LD fading, rub your hands together, grab a person, or an object, such as that mirror you conjured up! no reason to leave a great place when you could stay longer!

One of my favorite times that I have flown in a dream was in a non-lucid dream a few weeks ago. Earlier that day (IRL), I had been at my friends house, and we made a little fan by taking one of those tiny motors out of a roomba and attaching a piece of wood to it. Then when I dreamt that night, I had the fan in my hand, and if I turned it on, it would lift me into the air. Then I could just point the fan in whatever direction I wanted to go. I flew over a lake, but then I ran into power lines… . It was a really awesome dream though.

I have tried the swimming technique when i was just learning to fly. Lately, while in bed, if my hand or arm is dangling on the side of the bed, i let my spirit hand (i don’t know how to call it) just starts swaying out of my physical hand and i sway it more until i am able to float around my room. I feel liberated out of my body. Then i decide to go out the window. It depends on my will. Sometimes it’s hard getting through the screen or grills of my window. Sometimes i just go through and fly way so high. AHHH! It feels great!

One time I tried to spriing up and jump to start flying, but it seemed there were gravity limitations in my dream (and I was lucid). I jumped and fell right on my chest. What;s strange is that I actually physically felt it in the dream!
Sometimes, though i can’t remember the dream, i jump up high, and feel myself land- it hurts sometimes.

And something knew- how about getting on a motorbike to start your flight simulation?

Every tried being spiderman in your dreams as a means to flying? Really, it would just be ‘falling with style’

well, last night i flied with a broomstick. Like a witch or Harry potter. It was really fun, just sit on it and let the broomstick do the work.

I have a great idea for flying. I think we all know the movie “the Matrix”? Well, you see Neo jumping sometimes really high. If you try that, and at the highest point, spread your arms and fly, fly, fly! Sorry if someone already said this.

No, SpiderMan never worked for me. I either used the SuperMan style, just imagine that I fly and I did. The plane style, using some kind of mini plane to fly with, and I also used a special hat namely a screw propulsor but it was making a lot of noise.
Recently one of my friends told me that she was flying with the bed and I tried it too. It seems that this has been the best idea in a while because it is more exciting this way.

I usually just glide, but running real fast and leaning into it. Flying is a little harder for me but I can usually manage by doing the same but by moving may arms.

Ehh guys… I have no idea how flying is really, since I vaguely explored it.

If you can get anything in your dreams, can’t you get perfect speed and control just with the mind?

Yes, but “mind control” is something that needs to trained with persistence before it can be used, even in a dream.

My friend uses objects he has already seen fly in movies and whatnot(Airplanes, Brooms etc.) as a focus point.

I’m not new to flying in lucid dreams. Since it is my favorite thing to do, I am always soaring around the sky and visiting places on earth. I’ve had a lot of practice. However, last night I had a very interesting lucid dream in which I resolved to visit Mars. I made it into the upper stratosphere where I could see the stars and then I lost the dream. I recall feeling that I needed more time and that I needed a way to move faster. I really like that jet pack idea, I am going to try that out.

Does anybody else have any ideas as to how I can reach Mars?

My favorite flying method is indeed “falling that way” but I usually iduce it with fear of falling. It’s kinda fun to control your flight by manipulating your fear.

I also use two sub-flying methods such as “invisible bicycle” and “leaning”.
They can’t get you higher than a feet although the “leaning” is the fastest way to move in a dream i discovered by far.
To do a “bicycle” flight you just have to jump and start pedalling the air. I usually fall when i stop pedalling.
“leaning” features leaning forward at 45 degrees with your hands behind you, but instead of falling on your face you end up moving really fast. Must be a version of “falling that way”.

I personally just focus on flying. I can go a decent pace with only some effort, and do not have to follow a path, such as in transverse wave.

My flying method is unreliable at best and tends to feel more like zero-g than actually flying, so I have to push off from solid objects and find things along the way to help me maneuver. Whilst this is fun it tends to be a little haphazzard. I’ve managed to fly a couple of times by donning a cape, which I may have mentioned before on this site, however, the cape sems to have the rather peculiar side-effect of turning me into a vampire, I have no idea why!

I had my first flying lucid dream yesterday night  I became lucid while I was flying  I was trying to decide wether I was dreaming or not, and then I noticed, Hey! I’m flying, so I MUST be dreaming. (Pretty silly, huh.) Anyway, I found flying to be harder than expected  But I still had fun

The times that I’ve “flown”, it hasn’t ever been with the thought of recreation, but more of necessity. I just see a ledge or something that I want to go to, and I levitate directly to it and then stop flying, without even thinking about it. It never occurred to me (while in a lucid dream, at least) to just fly around for fun, which would be awesome.
