One of the servers, eu.chat4all.org, will be down until tomorrow morning. If you have trouble connecting, you could try this command: /server us.chat4all.org
This will connect you to the unaffected server. Once you are there, you can type /join #ld4all or /join #dreamtime to join the chatroom you want. #wolfgame is also on the same server.

The chat applet requires java, do you have that enabled?
Else you could try the mibbit link in my sig, that doesn't need anything to be installed on your computer.

I am very interested in your site. I came across it doing some research. Sadly, I found the free software was no longer available. I can't believe it was going on so long ago.
Its great to see such interest in dreaming and lucidity.
At the risk of being repetitive, I am having some difficulty with the chatrooms, and I searched the posts but am still having difficulty.
I'm shocked people still chat nowadays!
Any suggestions, comments, or replies are welcome.

It was interesting to meet so many folks into dreaming.
Honestly, I had no idea so many people were into it.

it seems i'm also heaving problems with chat, although in my case it looks like the problem is with all irc communication (can't to connect to any server), not just with this site..
any advice? (and my firewall/browser/antivirus are unlikely to be the cause)
or, ideally, a more direct conversation with someone who understands a bit about irc to help pinpoint my problem.

If you are having problems connecting to any IRC server then the problem has to be somewhere with your connection unfortunately. Firewall would be the most likely cause as it can feasibly block you connecting. Antivirus is unlikely, just as browser is. The other possibility is that your internet service provider, or the administrators of the network you use, depending how you connect, have blocked IRC ports. In which case getting connected may be tricky and could get you into trouble.
I would suggest to try mibbit if you have been trying java clients up until now to rule out java problems, and failing that try an IRC client. To connect to the chat for ld4all you can try to use a non-standard port. Ports 6666 6667 6668 6669 and 7000 can be used on irc.chat4all.net, failing that, I'd try to use the SSL port +7001 or +6697 (You will need a client with support for SSL to do that.) SSL may allow you to connect even with some forms of filtering, so once again, be careful you don't use it to break the rules of your network and get yourself in trouble.
