Last night I did WBTB, after taking a break for the weekend. My alarm was set for 6am, I got up and surfed the forums for 15 minutes or so, then laid back down and related a MILD mantra a few times. When I rolled onto my side it felt like I just plopped into a dream, but I didn't realize it until I looked at a clock after a few minutes. is it possible that I just fell asleep without noticing and entered a dream normally?
I don't try to do WILD yet, aside from a few times out of curiosity, just MILD, WBTB, and "spontaneous awareness" during the day (SAT?)
Current LD goal(s): look at my dream body, talk with a dream character and look at them closely

Well, it could be very easily, usually rolling over is one of the techniques for making the transition from waking life into a dream, so yes most probably you did WILD.
Try to repeat those steps and see what happens next time,
good luck!

Cool! does WILD always lead directly to a lucid dream or can it start as a ND?

A successful WILD will lead to a lucid dream always.
