I’ve added the two new sign-ups and updated the scores. Best of luck to everybody!

Finally got some decent sleep last night, with a very vivid ND where I asked myself if I was dreaming and started performing an RC but got distracted midway :T

^ Hey, it’s progress! It also moves you out of last place and into 10th.

A medium LD last night where I used some substances in the dream along with ian1 from the Traveler team and another friend and it brought us to the Astral Plane. Some trippy looking place with shadow people.

^ I’ve added your points, and you’re still 5 behind. Granted, I know you’re not counting every LD, but I figured I’d make a note of that for motivational purposes.

OK, Tuesday morning there was one pretty epic long LD based on Attack on Titan. I telekineticaly there a giant boulder at one Titan and also swirled a bunch of gravel around the person who let the titans in to slow them down. He was a man in a purple suit with a top hat. I could hear his inner monologue, which is what tipped me off. The dream ended with me fighting him.

The other night I also had an ND where I was trying to do 12 by 15. Was not correct at all.

Finally, short LD last night, but again, I lost lucidity before I could do anything of value.

^ That sure is 200 points there. The scores are updated again.

…V2 will take a bit to update, but the LC has had a tendency to get me a fired up, and there are things to get done on the other side.
With that said…

Koharo - 5min - Action - *Pt1. Train Thorn in the art of fire Pt2. Successfully use the fire element

*My first goal is a two part goal to be completed in order. It can be completed in separate dreams, but must be in that order to get credit for my first goal.

^ Considering some naturals are competing this time, I think you’ll find tougher competition than that from your last time in the LC. Best of luck!

Had a pretty good night last night. Well, morning this morning, but I digress.

One long LD. I was checking my phone for the time when [LD] I realized I must still be in bed. I jumped out and immediately began rubbing my hands. Unlike normal, as soon as I was outside of my room, my apartment was nearly identical to RL.

I made my way past the cat, who looked amazingly uninterested in the dream, and walked outside.

Instead of seeing my normal balcony, I had a stone staircase covered in ivy. As I walked down them, I found my dream apartment was apparently several stories up. When I looked up from the bottom, I was apparently at the bottom of a stone tower.

I checked my phone and saw the date (4/23, which was the night before), and estimated that in one week it would be 4/30.

I hit myself on some kind of overhang[/LD] EDIT: I hit the overhang because I had changed the size of my head to make it larger. I ended up making it mostly wider, though I still felt the height.[LD] as I walked out and tried to think of other tasks. I remembered I should find a fortune teller and walked out. While the back of my apartment had the right lawn, the building itself looked like castle ruins.

I kept walking forward, clapping my hands and telling myself to stay in the dream. I saw a girl running toward a hedge and thought she might be a fortune teller, but she was gone before I could catch her.

The dream began to fade, but I kept it by looking at my hands. I found myself on an average street at sunset.

I then tried to do my team’s incubation by calling Wyvern. I told myself he’d be there when I turned around, but I saw nothing.

A black van sped past me. I willed the driver to stop and turn around. He pulled into a driveway and backed out, facing me. I was going to use the van to try to regenerate.

It sped toward me, but as it was about to hit me, it dodged out of my way. I was so frustrated.[/LD] I woke up.

I also had two short LD’s. In both of them, I WILD’ed in the same method as before. In both, I lost the dream but saved it by rubbing my hands. I actually did that 4 times in the second, but as I understand the scoring, losing and regaining only counts once.

And that’s it.

Edit tldr: 1 long LD, guessed the date, made my head larger, and two short LDs, both with losing and regaining.

^ Got it. The scores are updated.

I had been kind of lazy/distracted/busy the past few days, but today I managed to get my dream journal caught back up again. [community.ld4all.com/t/lucidiss-dream-journal/39556/6)

In that time, I had medium length lucid dream where DEILD was involved, another medium length lucid dream, and two long lucid dreams. In the most recent lucid, I visited the astral plane and visited a fortune teller named Magnia. Unfortunately I forgot to bring an LC teammate with me. I did learn and experience a bunch of new things though. It was a great trip.

12 * 12 = 144. In remainder of those ~2 mins i failed to remember any other task. As well as I was unable to remember right after woke up and tried to deild… i gotta suspicion that im gonna deild soon :3

Okay, I’ve updated everybody’s scores. I intend to put Task 2 up in about 12 hours, so if you wake up from an amazing dream before then and want to get it counted for your team, be sure to make a quick post saying what you did even if you don’t get the entire dream posted.

Since the last visit:

-I have had 1 medium LD, 1 short LD and 1 lucid moment. No chaining.

I haven’t had access to LD4all in the past days and might have gotten some of the tasks wrong, but my mind has been very persistent with this and LC related things have seeped into more than half of my remembered dreams this week:

-I have calculated the date in 1 week while lucid. Not spoken to DCs about it
-I have calculated three multiplication problems while lucid, no help from DCs though
-I have communicated telepathically with a DC, while lucid. I couldn’t hear hos thoughts, so I don’t know if it counts.
-I have shapeshifted to an Elf, who is said to have telepathic power, while lucid.
-I have moved a car by using the power of thought to “animate” it, while lucid. This is very familiar to my dreams and should probably not count.

…I have also had several dreams about doing colour coded tasks, having my brain scanned, my thoughts being exposed to the public, calculating train tables, etc.

I haven’t managed to visit a fortune teller or the astral plane. I’ll try to copy the fractal eclipse.

The dreams are here.

I have explained to you in private how I wasn’t completely honest about my motives for signing up. You are of course free to remove me from the competition. Even if I signed up because I wanted so much to host, this has at least tripled my LD frequency, so maybe I can follow the tasks without being a potential winner/host? My computer time will still be limited, possibly up to 1.may.

Siiw, I’m not going to remove you from the competition just because you want to host. Most LC participants want to host the next LC. Fact. I had no plans to bring up our private talks in here and will not be judging you based on the contents of them, but since you’ve brought them up, I remember that some of it related to favoritism toward certain people. Removing you or limiting your ability to host would be favoring others, and I would never do that.

I can’t count your points for telepathy, as the subtask specifically asked for hearing the thoughts of others. I will also not count the “animation” per your request. Everything else is fine.

With Task 2 about to go up, I feel that I should provide a list of scores for anybody who can’t see the scoreboard. If you need the scores in text like this, please tell me, and I will make it in future weeks. If not, then I will let the scoreboard do the talking.1. Lucidis (605)

  1. Rhewin (395)
  2. Wyvern (380)
  3. Siiw (210)
  4. Scipio Xaos (130)
  5. demented (100)
  6. Eterna (80)
  7. ian1 (30)
  8. Letaali (20)
  9. James_UK2008 (20)
  10. paual (5)
  11. Yev, mr_Block, HeadInTheClouds, Loah, drd, Koharo (0)
The Action team averaged 2.67 Task 1 subtasks per member and will get a bonus subtask in the next post. The Traveler team averaged 1.75 and the Shapeshifter team managed 0.33.

I’ll put up Task 2 shortly! Congratulations to everybody who has scored so far!

Task 2: Brawn

You worked your brain last week; now you’ll work your body. Strength is theoretically unlimited in dreams, but can you break your mental schema of what your own limitations are?* Perform an exercise: 20 points

  • Smash something sturdy with pure strength: 20 points
  • Lift/move something heavy that is anchored to the ground, e.g., a tree or a building, via physical contact: 40 points
  • (Bonus for winning Task 1) Try to stay inbounds! Compete in something won by moving an opponent out of bounds (e.g., tug-of-war or sumo wrestling): 40 points
  • View or compete in a sporting event based on strength (boxing, wrestling, sumo wrestling, etc.): 40 points
  • Grow visible muscles throughout your entire body (i.e., not just in one or two body parts) or transform into a strong creature: 30 points
  • Sci-fi films, horror movies, and even Major League Baseball teach that the fastest way to gain strength or supernatural powers is an injection (sanity not guaranteed in the former two settings). Use an injection to initiate a transformation for any other subtask in this LC: 10 points
Not counting Team Dreams and not counting the bonus for the Action team, which was up for anybody to grab and doesn’t factor into my calculation, there are now 340 total task points for the Action team and 320 for the other teams. One of the teams will catch up to the Action team next week, and remember that by Task 6, everybody will be even in terms of available points.

Lastly, here are the Team Dream requirements for the week.* Action: Decide on something heavy and anchored to the ground to lift/move with a teammate or decide on a sport to compete in that is won or lost based on staying inbounds.

  • Traveler: Decide on a strength-based sporting event to view with a teammate.
  • Shapeshifter: Decide whether you’ll grow muscles via injection or transform into a stronger creature with a teammate. If the latter, specify what creature and remember that you cannot use this creature for points for any other task.
The winning team this week will have the highest-scoring subtask from an opposing team next week (which will be worth 40 points) also count as its own, effectively avoiding the half-credit stipulation for that task. Remember, only subtasks and Team Dreams from this week will count for this; going back to Task 1 is fine for individual points but will not help the team. As always, best of luck to everybody!
