Healing pain during lucid dreams ?

Hey everyone !

I have had a crippling chronic pain for almost 10 years (located on the left ribs) which is essentially unexplained physically, so I have tried every possible treatment and medicine but there’s no long-term cure for this not-really-identified problem.

I know the possible effects of hypnosis or auto-suggestion against physical pain (it didn’t work for me), and I’ve always wondered if lucid dreams could also be a tool for this.
/!\ I’m not talking about healing a real inflammation/wound/lesion, I’m talking about easing the pain which is psychological /!

I already “saw” my pain in a lucid dream: it appeared as a cliff in which were destroyed sand castles and snakes crawling around and in it. But it didn’t help me.
For several months, I have tried to take advantage of my frequent lucid dreams by asking a DC for help — a DC I considered as a “healer” (that’s how I call him, in french “guérisseur”). So I get to see him sometimes: once he massaged my back (which is not where it hurts…), once he appeared as a girl in a wheelchair, another time as a rabbi, once he told me I had to go “up” (in french “en haut”) so I climbed up the house where I found some kind of a mill’s granary and some nestled birds… Last time I tried something, it was by swallowing a medicine I asked for in a dream organic grocery (didn’t ask help from my healer this time).
Anyway, now this is where I am: nowhere. None of these weird experiments has helped me at all, so I am reconsidering my strategy which has been wobbly and unhelpful so far.

Has anyone here ever healed pain in a lucid dream ? And how did you proceed ?
If anyone has any idea about how I could go on, it would be really helpful
because I’m so lost. I was thinking about trying reiki things during lucid dreams, maybe it would have an impact during this particular state of consciousness.
Oh and I think it is relevant to specify that in my case I don’t feel the pain during my lucid dreams (it rarely happens). I feel it only when I’m awake (and not all day long).
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Have you tried creating a healing light and putting it on the wounded area where there is pain?

Rather than trying to get rid of your pain through some sort of energy or “outside” help like a healer or guru, maybe try transforming the cliff and making it your own?

Build new castles, restore buildings and don’t forget habitat for whatever local species there may be. (Nests for birds, caves for snakes, small shelves or terraces for shrubs and plants)

You may be familiar with the concept of a memory palace? It’s an area in your personal dream worlds that is yours. Can be anything you want but it’s common to make it feel like your own home/space. You’d start by finding a suitable terrain/location, then “building” either in dream or while meditating/daydreaming/drawing/writing about the spot. Doesn’t really matter how, but the more energy you put into it the clearer it should be. (may take time)

The state of your home area becomes a good representation of your own state and it can be used as an introspective tool, launching area for dreaming/exploring, place for inviting DC’s your friends with to stay, or just a place for you to go to.

Even if you don’t focus on the memory palace concept, just meditating in waking life (OR dream) could be beneficial. In particular, I’d suggest practicing until you can sit in a spot for 15 minutes without moving, then a half hour and finally a full hour.

Until you can sit for a half hour without stopping, practice keeping your entire focus on one aspect of your body. Could be the sensations at the tip of your nose (What I learned with), your inhalations and exhalations, heartbeat, circulation, anything really. The point is just to sharped your focus.

When you’re time goal is to reach an hour then you can try what’s called “scanning”. You start at the top of your head and shift your focus over each area of your body, stopping anywhere there’s a sensation (Could be anything, not just pain) and letting it play out before moving on.

This is a really basic rundown, but I got the technique from Vipassana. It’s for you to discover if it works for you or not, but that scanning technique can really help finding where tension is being held and getting things moving again.

If you’re unable to find a solution for your pain in your internal worlds, you could also seek help in waking life. I’ve heard of people getting helpful results from healers, gurus and advice givers. (Pick your flavor, and if that doesn’t work, pick a type you wouldn’t normally go to and see what happens)

@Micjos12 :

I didn’t yet but I read some things about Reiki that suggests things like this. I will try for sure, thanks for the idea

@SpaceRace : Thank you very much for all of your advices, really. I heard about memory palace but not so much, I will look deeper into that.

About waking life specialists help, I’ve been meeting a lot of “classic” doctors (general ones, ostheopaths, physiotherapists, hypnotherapists, mesotherapist (not sure about the word in english), acupuncture, sophrology…) but not very efficient so far.
I’m a very pragmatic person, that’s why I have a lot of doubts about alternative medicines… but yes, I’m in a dead end so I have nothing to lose testing what you suggested. Thank you again
