Ultra-Big LD4all
PostPosted: Tue 25 Jul, 2006  Reply with quote

For some reason, LD4all forums have gone ultra-wide on my computer. It's not just a one-page glitch - it's all of them. Now I keep having to scroll across a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of my screen in order to read the whole of a post, or even the list of forum topics! What has gone wrong here? I wonder if it's just my computer, because nobody else has mentioned this yet, but this is the only website that has gone ultra-big, and as far as I'm aware, I've changed no settings!

Edit: Come to think of it, has the whole site layout changed? I seem to be scrolling down further and further to reach the "reply" button now... it's gone very big vertically, too! Argh...!! cry

Well, nothing's changed for me except for the size of the ads which now stretch across the page. I'm using Firefox right now. I'll see how it looks in the other browsers.

EDIT: I checked IE and Opera. Everything looks perfectly fine.

i use opera, and the same thing happens to me since this morning. the google ads appear between parts of a topic, stretching the page both ways. it makes it difficult to load and reply to topics from the phone...it looks like it is google's fault 8P

I use Opera too, and that stuff happens to me (sometimes) when the page doesn't load completely. But it never happened to me. Have you tried to reload repeatedly?

Yes, I forgot to mention it, but I'm using IE as well. At least it's not just me! Evil advertisements. Evil, evil advertisements. Can nothing be done to get rid of it?

TGTBT - Yes, I've tried reloading. It's on every single page for me.

Well, the alternatives are 2:

- Q fixes this
- You guys use a different browser

I guess.

Hmmm. I have Firefox on my computer, but I don't usually use it (I prefer IE). I'll give it a try.

Edit: Well, it got rid of the horizontal problem, but it's still way too big vertically. Plus I never really like using Firefox; it stuffs up all my bookmarks. Still, until those awful ads get back to normal, it's all I can use that won't drive me insane!

yes, i have tried reloading, and apart from the "connecting to ads.google.com" delay that sometimes appears, it loads completely. it just looks like the google ads are four times as big as before.

I used the albock plus plugin for firefox, so I never get ads on LD4all.

No problems for me.

PS: Where did the archive go?
