A simple way i found motivation is to think "My mind is software and everyday is an expansion pack",ha ha,See I will Watch a movie i havnt seen before and afterwards i have a whole host of new things to implement into the otherworld.
Mayb Stupid in some respect but may also make sense

yep! and I like when it works both ways:
"uh, that was a cool movie. I'll chat with those characters in my dreams!"
or
"uh, that's a cool song! I'll try to play it on my guitar when I wake up!"
Waking life inspires dreams that inspire waking life that inspires dreams that inspire ...

Yup, it's an endless cycle, though i think it's a lot easier to have waking life to inspire dreams though.
