I had a weird experience this morning, and I'm not quite sure of what it was exactly. Looked like SP, HI and LD at the same time.
I was doing MILD, and then started to see short random images. Then I found myself in front of a computer, and it was not working properly, which triggered lucidity. I had a strange physical sensation, of my head and my hands buzzing and shaking, and at the same time I could hear a loud noise, something like strings.
As soon as I became lucid, I felt compelled to dive into my computer's screen. biggrin I did this, and the next moment I was falling in the sky - strangely, it was blurred and gray on the edges. Then I saw a full moon, coming closer and closer, I lost lucidity and crashed upon the moon...
The setting changed, and I noticed that there was a fight going on next to me. At the same time, the buzzing sensation and strings noises were still present. One of the opponents was Droopy ( eek2 ), and he was in an awkward position. I became lucid again, and decided to try to heal him (which I couldn't do, because he was a cartoon and me a human being...).
I lost lucidity again, and found myself in the kitchen, with my brotther uttering ununderstandable words... This made me remember once again that I was dreaming, and at that point I decided to wake up.

What seems strange to me is the constant shifting of the scene, and the buzzing and strings sensations that lasted throughout the dream.
I'm not sure of what it meant... Was this a LD?

Ok i had the my first dream that had anything to do with lucidity last night.....i'm not sure it if was an unclear LD or i just dreamt i was having an LD. I didn't use any methods....that night i thought about LD's...but then i thought no more of it for the rest of the night.

I decided to make a DJ To help with my DR, this dream i had last night is the only entry so far.....please read it! (Link in Siggy)

I need to know...is it an LD?

Please and Thankyou! Have fun!

In a dream, you can experience more or less anything. The buzzing and strings sensations could be due to a subconscious expectation that this would happen and the constant shifting is possible in an LD too.

I read your dream and I can't see anything that sticks out as indicating it was a False Lucid Dream. It can be a little difficult to tell sometimes, especially when it's your first LD. My advice would be to not worry too much about it. If it wasn't an LD when you have your first LD you will realize that. Otherwise congratulations. :D

being lucid is knowing that you are dreaming in the dream
so if you felt like you were in control and knew that
you were dreaming, fer sure fer sure

then yeah
:D

OK, I think I just had a Lucid dream!! smile ^^ :D siiw grin But im not sure.
Heres a rough summery of when I became Lucid (I think)

I look at my coach and I she she doesn't have her shirt on. I look at her for a while and decide that thats probibly not legal. I do a nose RC and i realsie im dreaming and wake up. Im still tired so i go back to sleep and my dream Continues.
I walk over to my sister's coach and i have the vauge Idea im dreaming. "Hey watch this!", I say as i rise into the air right infront of her. She takes no notice.
Briefly i think i might get into trouble but i think "NAH this is a dream" and i fly onto the court and i block shots on the hoop and i even steal the ball and fly up before throwing it down. I decide I want to go outside, but when i look out the window, i see lightning and realise it's not safe and i wake up. sadblauw

So was this a dream? Or did it just seem like i was Lucid?

P.S. I tired Wild last night and towords the end, I got a very intense sensation. It felt like a weight was being pulled out of me for a second but then there was a sorta "Flashish" type thing and it stopped. so i rolled over and went to sleep. What happened? whatsthat

Bam, right there...thats the words I needed to hear. If at any time during a dream you know you're dreaming you're lucid and thats a lucid dream. It seems like after your dream continued (sisters coach) you went back into a normal dream.

Sounds like a little but of the vibrations and such that often accompany a WILD. These are the sensations of you're body entering REM and SP. They are completely normal and harmless so don't be nervous or alarmed, in fact, they are goo news because it means you are very close to an LD.

Really strange dream (What does it mean?)
PostPosted: Fri 03 Oct, 2008  Reply with quote

Hey there,

First, sorry if this is the wrong forum I wasnt quite sure whether I should post that into the Dream Journal Forum since its more of a question wink5.

Okay, I dreamt something really strange last night and I dont know what it means or wether it was lucid or not. I started lucid dreaming actually 2 weeks ago and I had 2 dreams where I beacme lucid for a few "minutes" and then forogt about it and the level of consciousness wasnt the same with the "real" lucid dream I had on the second night I knew there was someting such as lucid dreaming.

Well, last evening I went to bed pretty late and did a small meditation with Beats from the BrainWave Generator before going to sleep. The first time I naturally woke up I could only remember really small bits of my dream what was quite unusual for me since I usually remember my dreams in full detail. I tried a WILD then, it was about 9:45AM and then something strange happened. I dont know whether I was still awake or already dreaming, I thought I kinda "realized" that I dreamt all the time that I was trying to do a WILD although I already suceeded minutes ago. So I did a reality check (Nose Pinch) and my theory proved to be right since I could breathe. But the whole thing didnt really feel as intense as my first lucid dreaming I told you above. In the dream, I got out of my bed and observed some really weird things, - My dad came into my room and got really angry that I wasnt awake to say goodbye to him because he was going on a buisness trip. While he was saying that, I thought that I was still aware that I was dreaming but I couldnt influence anything, it was just like a normal dream basically. Then I "went" back to bed in my dream and fell asleep again and when I woke up I did another RC that showed me that I was dreaming. And the whole thing went on and on and the only difference from a normal dream was that I kept doing "Nose-Pinch"-RCs all the time and actually KNEW I was dreaming but I was still more of a "3rd Person" Observer.
And after the 4th time I "fell asleep" in my dream I had a long, vivid, normal dream.

I hope I could describe it good enough smile. I'd really appreciate any help... Was I just dreaming about lucid dreaming because I think about it all the time in my all-day-life?

Cheers & Thanks

Nick

Yes, it was an LD because you knew you were dreaming. By your description it was a low level LD. By that I mean the awareness of the dream state wasn't that sharp. You were probably aware on some base level that it was a dream; but not to the point where you could control anything - you might not even have been aware that you could control something.

OBE, Lucid Dream or just Vivid dream?
PostPosted: Sat 18 Oct, 2008  Reply with quote

The other night I had this incredible dream. One of those that you wake up from with a smile on your face smile But also one where I questioned what the h**l was this?

I have been trying to get an Out of body-experience for ½ a year now and been reading lots of books on the subject... Just recently after having no succes I decided to try and get into Lucid dreaming. (I have a book by Laberge)
The 3rd night trying with MILD (and starting up with too many RC during day-time eek2 ) I had this wonderful dream i mentioned:

Here we go:

In the dream I remember waking up in my living-room on the couch (although sleeping in my bedroom) I felt my body being filled with vibrations (like before a OBE) and i said to myself maybe I'm having an OBE - soon after i could feel myself floating up over the coach. I said to myself: "This is it! I'm OBE'ing!" My eyes were closed and i remembered to say "astral vision on!" to get sight - it worked (or perhaps i just opened my eyes.)

Then i said to myself "go up, up, up" and i did; i went through the roof of my house (it was very dark in the attic) and i went further up. Now i could see the stars on a VERY dark-blue sky. This stage of the dream was extremely lifelike i have never seen the sky as beatiful before - and it was almost better than looking at a real sky. Then suddenly i remember having my wife in my arms, like Superman and Lois Lane. I gave her a kiss and decided to go out of my out of body experience (i know you have to keep them short at first to remember them) I then woke up in my bed - and said WAUW to myself i really did it! I reached out for my dream-journal and wrote in it - i then went back to sleep. Or so it seemed because i woke up again looked in my dream-journal and saw that i hadn't written anything. I was dazzled i went up and looked out hte window to see if there was a clear sky. There wasn't - so i must have dreamt it all up.

I was both exited and dissapointed - glad about the dream but dissapointed because i hadn't had either a Lucid dream or an Out of body-experience whatsthat

Then again i remember my thoughts VERY clearly i thought i was having an OBE and acted accordingly - but then again I didn't think of the fact that i lay in the couch instead of my bed or that i suddenly had my wife in my arms.

Was it just a very vivid dream?

toygar 05 - I'm not sure if you had a lucid dream, based on your description however the answer is no. The question you need to ask is whether or not you ever realized you were dreaming...if you did then it was a lucid dream.

Umm....no, not neccesarily. People often have low-level LD's where they realize at the most basic level that they are in a dream but nothing really changes. Lucidity does not guarantee control or clarity of thought.

Remember folks, a lucid dream is nothing more than a dream in which you know you're dreaming, the amount of control or clarity is irrelevant, so long as you are aware you're dreaming then it is a lucid dream.

@ Juulsgaard
I don't think it was exactly an LD, since you don't seem to realise you were dreaming. It certainly sounds like a fascinating dream though. smile Since I'm still unsure if AP/OBE is possible, I'm probably not the best person to judge if this is an AP/OBE or not.

@ toygar05
As Lucidity_Master said, it's a question of if you were aware you were dreaming or not.

After my last experience like two weeks ago (here) I recently figured out that when I wake up in the night (happens ^^ )and try to go back to sleep I feel realy relaxed and different histories come to my mind. They were like thought made by me but they kept going without my "help". Eventualy I said something like "How is it in there?". Then I felt really weird (SP maybe?) and the room I thought about materialized in my mind and I was there too. Saddenly, I was knocked out of this state like 1 second later.

After being knocked out, I decided to try again. And again, I had different history in my mind (was it in hospital? I don't remember). Later I said "How would I look like in these clothes?" and - again - the hospital materialized. This time I started to run and it knocked me out again (2 seconds ^^ ). I'm pretty sure, that if this state was longer, I would have lost my conciusnes of my physical body.

Then, my question is - were these LD's?

They could I suppose be classed as extremely vivid HI, but at the least I'd say it was probably HI transitioning into a dream. smile When you seemed to become part of the scene, did you know it was a dream? If so, then it either was an LD or very vivid HI, bordering on being an LD.
