Tallis: I'm glad she leaves me to my own devices. If I need anything I ask. Psycho has other people living in the mindscape, so they all help each other out. That's how we survive. Plus, It's not boring ever. Sorry I was being a bit whiny.

Albedo: Oh yes, we've been to the area, the stores close by are quite nice.
Orion: Yeah a lot of nice places in a mall nearby Hanyuu's home. There is a section where it's like an outside mall inside a building! There are roads and street lamps, but it's actually in a giant gothic styled interior.
KocoBassa: Yeah, I wanted some of that coffee.
Orion: *To CyberD* You said Tallis is probably the most human looking character? I don't dispute that at all. People have said we are really normal...No...A 6'3" albino hand in hand with and orange eyed half-elf only four inches shorter than him with a purple-haired demon and redhead mechanic in tow is not normal.

Leijona: *to CyberD* I actually think that having a normal looking character might come in more handy than a fantasy-like character. At least for me it’s that fantasy characters are more likely to only appear in a fantasy world than in our everyday life.

Me: I think the normal looking argument goes both ways and I think it is influenced by a lot of different factors. Creating a dreamscape or environment for your character(s) probably gives you more freedom to create "unique" appearances for your characters without hindering the effectiveness of the technique.
I think I'm actually the only person here who hasn't created an environment for my character (correct me if I'm wrong) and it doesn't seem to be holding him back. In fact not having an environment means I can focus more on him rather than his surroundings. But, if Nova had an unusual appearance or his concept belonged to a story (like the Na'avi themed characters) then he might not show up in my dreams that occur in real life locations that don't have any fantasy elements in them.
Nova: And most of them do occur at home. Either that or CyberD is dreaming about videogames, in which case their are no winners.
Me: I have to find a way to work on that.
Nova: @Tallis. You don't have to apologize. It's not like you did something wrong, you're actually the victim.
Me: @everyone. What do you talk to your characters about when you aren't on here? I've found that I'm often struggling for ideas of what to talk about and so we always end up in conversation about what to talk about.
Nova: It's either that or he talks about forgetting to talk to me more often.... Last night we were thinking about if we should talk about me being a character or not. Like breaking the fourth wall. Kinda like I'm doing now. The conclusion we came to is that it doesn't matter how broken the fourth wall gets. I know who and what I am and I really couldn't care less that I don't exist in his world physically. Doesn't stop me having fun and sometimes helping out.
Me: It'll also make the dream so much more interesting when I can actually see you interact with things physically. Those fire powers are eager to do some damage.

Mecha: *to Kocobassa and Leijona* I knew Evangelion was an anime beforehand, but I've never watched it. (in fact, I tend to avoid anime and manga whenever possible, since I generally find them annoying. There are a couple exceptions, but for the most part it's just not my cup of tea) I actually looked into Evangelion a bit after stumbling across a reference to it while researching the possible benefits of liquid breathing systems for pilots and soldiers in my sci-fi universe and finding out that Evangelion used something similar, but giant impractically-designed mecha with more style than substance happen to be one of the big anime turnoffs for me. (username notwithstanding.  I love giant robots, despite their inherent design flaws and all-around inferiority to tanks, I just don't like it when style completely subsumes any sense of practicality)
Morph: I wish to disown this human here. Anime is awesome and shouldn't be taken so seriously that it ruins the fun. Dream a little! 
Vesper: *to CyberD* Giant venus flytraps!  Do they shoot fireballs like the Mario ones, or just wait for people to come near them? *to Nova* The fourth wall is pretty much nonexistent for us. We talk about the story versions of ourselves knowing that they have no actual relation to our real lives, and treat the mindscape as just a dedicated place for us to hang out and talk, with the benefit of being able to visualize things. (AVE seems to be the only one of us that doesn't walk all over the fourth wall)
Mecha: *to Ves* Yeah, you guys like to game the system.  *to everyone else* They have nearly full 'admin rights' in the mindscape and take full advantage of the knowledge that they only exist in my mind and that everything around them has only as much relevance to them as they decide to go along with. Usually they follow the normal rules of cause and effect, as well as limiting themselves to using just the abilities they have in the story, but when it suits them they can warp reality in the mindscape just as extensively or creatively as any lucid dreamer with their dreams. (subject to human override of course) Even though they usually keep a clear divide between them and their story selves, they like to pretend that various bits of backstory are their own, or, very occasionally, to role-play as themselves.  It's all a little confusing to be honest, but we have fun. 
Morph: Long boring word wall, yadda yadda yadda. Now where's my sandwich? Fellow MCs, we must demand sandwiches!

CALD, the Chat, everything that has to do with dreaming, like my DR or any technique I want to use, about other characters I have (well that is useless for you two then I guess) and most important, things, persons and situations from my real life. And criticize me (that's what they like the most, and I have a higher chance to hear my more silent MCs actually talking). *to Mecha* You might not want to apply logic to the vast majority of animes or cartoons if you intend to enjoy them. *to Morph* Oh. Seems like I just repeated what you said. Sorry.  *to Nova and CyberD* It's almost the same for us like Mecha and Ves said. Difference is that my characters actually say that they switch between their story-selfs and their "real" MC-selfs. The course of life I have made up for each of them influences them in the mindscape (as they are the same persons) but to some degree they are able to differentiate between their story-lives and their MC-selfs. Also their story-selfs have no knowledge of, well, all of this, they only live in the story's setting. Now I don't even remember where the conversation started. 
Gan: I'd have to agree with Morph here. SANDWICHES!
Leijona: Good Lord, go away.
Gan: Mhhh let me think about this.....Ehh...Nope. 
Leijona: -_- It's not like I don't have other MCs to talk to. Let them talk at least once.
Gan: What other MCs?

Nova: Guess they didn't really need it.
Me: It's interesting that you should call them admin rights. I guess it sums it up pretty well. Nova enjoys (abuses?) his admin rights all the time but it's not like I care, quite the opposite actually. His original 'rights' involved all control over fire, heat and such. Since following me around wherever I go he has more ghostly rights... otherwise he'd be run over by cars, bump into street poles and all sorts of things because I can't steer him properly. Kinda interesting where it went. The advantages of not existing physically I suppose.
Nova: When we talk CyberD gets distracted quickly. He wants me to talk about all kinds of things but without any real course for the conversation to follow it quickly ends. I don't really want to criticize him I'll have to learn to be more of a commentator. @Leijona, having a story self and a MC self sounds really complicated. I don't think I could handle that very well at all.
Me: @Vesper. It was Tallis and Psycho who had the problems with fire breathing plants so you'd have to ask them. I dunno how you'd use such unique plants to create a garden but I bet it'd be interesting to try.... so long as they were the small ones.

Well, I am unsure how to do this without me feeling like I am breaking up a conversation but here it goes... Since she only likes to talk when I'm really tired, I would like to introduce Leranna.
Leranna: Hello everyone.
Me: Well tell them about yourself.
Leranna: Since we have not done a lot of thinking on a story all I can say is I am an alien species with a life span of about 2000 Earth years. When Smiley is lucid we are members of the Green Lantern Corp and protectors of sector 2814. When he is not lucid I am mostly keeping Aurora company. I am training Smiley since he just recently got the ring created and we agreed having Kilowog to train with would be a nightmare. My creation soon followed after the ring. *FYI Smiley, Aurora misses you.*
Me: I miss her as well. It has been too long since I last got lucid to have any fun with you guys. Maybe if you would help Leranna.

Psycho: WElCOME Smiley and Leranna:) If I may ask who's Aurora? And no you are not inturrupting the convo :) *To Mecha* The little flowers actually shoot little solar powered beams when they get too much sun. Other than that the only shoot at intruders, and Tallis, to keep him on his toes >:) But, thats why they're in the back, under the huge VFT, so they get sunlight but not a lot. All the "Fighter" plants are in the back, in a separte bed than the others:) Hope that awnsered some questions:)

Me: Welcome Smiley. Don't be afraid to break into the highly disjointed conversation. The more people there are the more Nova and I get to talk.
Nova: And the more talking the better.
Me: Exactly. It's been like five whole days since I posted on this thread, such a long time. During that time though I've been reading a whole lot about about the mindset you should have when working on lucid dreaming, we've concluded "It's complicated bu it really shouldn't be."
Nova: There was one particular thread that improved CyberD's resolve. A thread about not wanting a dream but instead knowing you'll have one. So now his whole mindset has changed and hopefully for the better. It gives me something to nag him about anyway.
Me: But I'm still stuck dreaming about old friends instead of Nova. Some of the people I see in my dreams I haven't seen for years. Worse still, some of them appear almost every night in at least one of my dream. Nova on the other hand has only appeared when I actively search for him, which means I have to change my mindset.
Nova: And that's where you need to simplify everything. You know I can appear in any dream you want, you just have to believe it deep down.
Me: If it was easy then everyone would LD every night.
Nova: Your making it should difficult, you aren't supposed to think like that. Having LD's is easy and everyone can do it.
Me: Exactly. On a completely unrelated note that no one will care about, I managed to find another reference picture of Nova. Its kinda fun to have his appearance based on a clothes model. I seem to get a new picture of him in my mailbox every couple of weeks.
Nova: I have to point out how creepy that sounds.
Me: Thank you Nova...

Me: Thanks for making it feel welcome in here. *To Psycho* Aurora is my dream companion as I like to call it. She is a Siberian Husky that I conjured up during a WILD. She is still a puppy but she seems to know a lot of tricks.
Leranna: Your welcome. 
Me:  You are the one who has been teaching her tricks???
Leranna: What else am I supposed to do while waiting for you to get to sleep? Fly around? Save the kittens? You never added anything for me at the house, you just have stuff in here for Aurora. Besides; you wouldn't want me meeting up with Lax by myself would you? We barely got out alive the last time he fought us.
Me: HEY!  I'M STILL LEARNING TO USE THE RING!
Leranna: Sorry I just figured you wouldn't be susceptible to the Yellow impurity. I mean it is your created world Smiley.

Psycho: BWHAHAHA omg I read your post smiley:) *Leranna* The reason for my manicel laughter is becuase, Tallis had/has the same problem with me:P
Tallis: We will be sitting there talking, and she starts playing any songs that come to mind. The way I combat it, is that Psycho made me a GPS Ipod, (GPS is a different story:P) and it is plugged into the "speakers" of her head. From there, I get to listen to something we BOTH like.
Psycho: However, If something is seriously stuck in my head, I have to get that away first before he can "change" the song.... and for anyone curious about the GPS, is that earlier I stated Tallis gets lost a lot. Now I have eliminated that problem, and unforuntly Tallis gets hurt less:(
Tallis:..... UNFORUNETLY? and by the way why can't I have a pet?
Psycho:.... Your a shapeshifter, you're your own pet:P
Tallis: Whatever happen to our disscusion about getting me a dragon?
Psycho:... I kinda forgot XD

Me: I actually had the same problem with music for a time but then Nova decided he knew guitar... and suddenly he can play all the songs. So instead of music being a distraction it can actually help me to visualize him better.
@Smiley, I actually remember reading the posts about the Siberian Husky. Having an animal for CALD might be interesting, though I dunno if it'd work as well or not seeing puppies can't talk.
Nova: Except in dreams.... Going back to the music thing. It really was an easy fix. I've also played drums and sometimes do the vocals, a lot better than CyberD ever could.
Me: True, I'll leave all that stuff to you, no one can see or hear you.
@Psycho, the whole model thing started when I used to use the Sims to create characters for writing. Sure it was simple, but seeing a character in game with the correct features was helpful sometimes. Sometimes when I really need inspiration I watch tv and take screenshots of people, the news is especially good because you get normal looking people as well as ideas for names.
For Nova I chose a photogenic boy about the age I wanted from an advertisement that happened to be in my mailbox the day I created him. It stuck and it really helps me to visualize him. The boy in particular isn't famous or anything, probably just some kid who goes to school and stuff.
Nova: I've never been to school, don't need too.
Me: Thank you for pointing out something so obvious.
I guess Tallis will just have to adapt or perish, though from the sounds of it the plants should be the least of his concerns
