When the game begins there is a pool of roles that will be used for the game. The GM decides about them. Then these roles are assigned at random to the players. At the end of the confirmation phase (which is when the game really starts) you will be sent a forum PM with your role.
As for real game, chat etc it might be best to say that the game has 2 places where you can play it, the forum and the chat. The forum is the vital part, chat is only an addition that you can use if you want to talk to someone in realtime.
On the forum there are 3 topics in the Wolfgame subforum (they were created already). The player stats topic lists the current progress of the game, containing the results of every day and night. The realgame topic is for the players to discuss how they voted and such. The roleplay topic is purely for playing with your fictional character in the village of Calla. Roleplay and realgame are often viewed as separate parts of the game, but every player has an individual view. As for the forum, you can also use the PM function to communicate with other players. Please also send your votes by PM to the GM (who is called Mawa and has a firy sword avatar).
In chat you can talk to the other players in a dedicated channel that we host on an irc network. If you are more adept at using the IRC protocol, you can also create your own private rooms for alliance meetings and for privately talking with people.
As for the gamedays... There is one set deadline which you should remember once it was announced (it wasn't yet). After the roles were sent out, you have exactly 24h to submit your vote because it is Day 1 then. When day 1 ends, the one with most votes will get executed and Night 1 starts, which also lasts 24h. If there is a tie in the votes on day 1, then day 1b will start, again it's 24h long. After the night, we will have day again, and so on. Every "chapter" is 24h long, so from one deadline to the next. The times will also be announced in the topics. And whether it's day or night will also be displayed in the topic titles.
