I briefly did that in New York, but my attempt at the NY accent was kind of awful. But the word "coffee" is rather fun to say.

I had a Doctor Who marathon yesterday and when it was over I spoke in a rapid Estuary accent and it was difficult to get out of.
On that note...
I adapt to the accent/speech patterns/behaviors of people I'm around. For example, when I was in New York City, I spoke and acted like a New Yorker. But mainly, it's the worst when I'm around British people xD |
After watching something for a long time, or listening to someone for a long time, if they have an accent then their voice replaces my own in my head. You try arguing with the Doctor when his voice tells you it's sleepy time

I am an admitted Anglophile.
I just... I like their stuff more than Canadian and American stuff. Their music... TV... spelling... It's superior in my opinion.

I get really mad when someone says that David Tennant is the best Doctor/that David Tennant is THE DOCTOR.

Don't view your life as "privileged and better than those who are physically suffering" but as something that actually brings enjoyment to you. |
Thank you. Constantly telling yourself how much better off you are than people suffering elsewhere is mostly going to make you frustrated at yourself for still being unhappy despite your privileged life.
Quirky fact about myself: I'm able to cheer myself up by going to a mirror in the bathroom and just laughing at myself (not in a negative way). I do voices and faces and for some reason find my appearance hilarious. It seems like a pretty insane thing to do but I can't help it; I genuinely find my own face funny!

I usually do the same from time to time..I believe voiceovers andf actors do the same when rehearsing.
Random fact: Sometimes I dance around or air guitar to no music

Hm. Apparently, I've recently become quotable.
Anyways, I've recently discovered my absolute love for organizing things. Spent 7 hours organizing my room yesterday. Minus a 20 minute break. Unfortunately, it makes a massive mess, so I got to add on even more time for cleaning afterwards
But it was worth it!

Nahh
#1 recommended: Start from Rose (Series 1) (2005)
#2 recommended: Start from Eleventh Hour (Series 5) (2010)
#3 recommended: Start from An Unearthly Child (Season 1) (1963)
#4 recommended: Start from Spearhead from Space (Season 7) (1970)
If you start from Rose, you'll get practically all of the continuity from upcoming episodes. In all honesty, the classic series isn't THAT important to understanding the show in the form it has now. I got through "nuWho" in about 2.5 weeks.
If you don't want to, then go to The Eleventh Hour. Series kind of resets at that point (new Doctor, new companion, new TARDIS, new head writer, new producer) but I don't recommend it. Series 1-4 have a lot of good stuff in them.
If you go to the classic series, which I think is something you should do at a later point (with a new season of Doctor Who beginning in a week) then of course, I suggest going to the very beginning. Lots of awful episodes right off the bat, but it's nice to see the show forming its roots. Plus there's still some really good serials (The Daleks, The Aztecs, The Romans, The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Chase, The Meddling Monk, The Tomb of the Cyberman, The Mind Robbers, The Seeds of Death...) but there are a LOT of missing episodes. And it's all black and white. With awful production value.
So, if you want to avoid it, jump to the first episode of the Third Doctor (Spearhead from Space) with full colour and a new doctor. Plus, it's a really good serial.
Anyways, I don't think you should go allllllll the back. Not yet. Just watch the modern stuff.

Exactly what I'm doing.
I'm only on the Third Doctor though. Decided not to start Classic Who until the summer and then ended up incredibly busy
