My First LD
PostPosted: Mon 26 Mar, 2012  Reply with quote

It finally happened last night. I woke up at 4:30 am. Did not remember any dreams. Then I tried WILD but also with mantra just in case. I also did few cycles of SILD described on the forum. WILD failed and I fell asleep in process. but then I got a dream. I stand in a collonade at my school with some random middle aged, grey haired guy in front of me. He stood still throughout the dream. So I stand there in ND, my hand randomly travels to my nose and pinches it. I can breathe. BAM!!! A 'wave' hits me which makes everything much more vividI look around, normal school surroundings. Then I make massive mistake and decide i want to fly. I start to float. Once 60cm above ground I got too excited and woke up. This was amazing. I wrote this to show people who yet have to experience LD how their process may happen. Also I would like to ask more experienced LD ers, what should i do to calm myself down. I'd also love to know how to keep conscious during WILD, as I tried counting, visualization, mantra, but i always end up falling asleep. I try many methods at same time to keep my odds of LD that much higher, so it would be great if i could actually succeed in WILD.

I know how that may seem like a mistake, but I don't think it was. Whatever happened, added to your experience wink . It's pretty common for the first LD's to end quickly, so at least you got to fly a bit which I'm sure helped boost your motivation.

I suggest not worrying too much about WILD for now. Keep doing what you did, mixing techniques can indeedincrease the odds, and then later when you have more experience with LD's you can go try to get better at WILD.

To stay calm you can try to tell yourself to stay calm, rub your hands and focus on the dream, that's what helps me a bit. The more attention you give to the dream world the more unlikely it is for it to fade. Many times you wake up because you are afraid of waking up, or you start thinking too much about your other body in your bed.

Keep it up!

Congratulation! And you seems to have achieved lucidity in a short time.
Trying to fly was surely a good idea, i suppose you would like to try again in your next dreams so it was a good experience. First time i flew i focused first on the sky and ran. Once i was fast enough i took off because i wanted to put all the chances on my side
