Dream objects
PostPosted: Mon 11 Jun, 2012  Reply with quote

Hi all,

I had my first lucid dream in a long time, and I decided I wanted to go back to my childhood bedroom and rediscover memories of old toys and objects. I wasn't quite taken there, but I was taken to a stack of bedrooms, one on top of the other, and I had to climb through a hatch in the ceiling to get through each one. It was good fun.

In one bedroom I found a board game under the bed. I got the box out and had a quick look. I then looked around other things for a bit. On my way out, I tripped over and fell to the floor and when I looked I saw that I had stumbled on the board game, which I had left out on the floor. What I found interesting about this was that, despite forgetting that the board game was there, my subconscious still took a note of its location and when I was walking out, it decided that my foot would collide with it and cause me to fall over.

I found this quite interesting. I suppose the brain is good at keeping track of its 3D environment and I experienced this first hand. In waking life, I'm actually quite bad at remembering where stuff is. Once, I had lost something for weeks and searched everywhere for it, then one night dreamt that someone walked into my room, pulled out a box from under my bed, showed me the item, and put it back again. Of course, the first thing I did when I woke up was to check the box, and was happy/spooked when I saw the item right there at the top of the box. My subconscious must have known it was there all along.

Has anyone had similar experiences with object memory? Have you ever placed an object somewhere in a dream, only to find it in exactly the same place when you next dream of the location? I don't have lucid dreams often enough to test this sort of thing out.

Hey, your story reminds me of an LD I had some days ago.
In it, I wanted to jump in a lake near my hometown with the intention to explore ocean life in there. I never even thought about it couldnt work (at least I think so now) - I even grew myself some frog-like feet to swim better. But when I got in the water - i landed in thick mud. It was as flat as all the lakes in this area actually are. My SC let it happen even though I would never have thought the water there wasnt enough wink5
srry for my bad english but I think the point is clear wink5
