Do you recommend this sleep schedule for LDs?
PostPosted: Tue 03 Jul, 2012  Reply with quote

I have considered doing this for a while now:
when I go to bed I wake up 4,5 hours after falling asleep, then I write down whatever dreams I remember and go back to bed again for about an hour or so.
Then later in the day, during early afternoon or something, I take a 1-2 hour nap.

This should give me plenty of chances to become lucid every week, but how healthy is it?
Do you recommend doing it like this everyday?

I normally just set alarm for maybe 5 hours after you fall asleep and
just record any dreams and then go to sleep and dream.

A very good thing to do though is train yourself to awaken after every dream so i can just check the clock when I wake up after every dream which could help you see those false awakenings you may have gotten, because if you do this it can get very confusing until you actually stop to get up.

But for me this works to getting lucid although i'm not very good at staying lucid I've done a good amount of rc's and just noticing how illogical everything is.
**Plus you can time your dreams which i do all the time**

Btw ... I don't, it sounds like it can screw up your sleep schedule and from what I've heard that doesn't help lucid dreaming. But I think doing it like once or twice at the most a week would do it.

Current LD goal(s): At least 3 a week And interact with DC

When you wake up after 4.5 hours, why don't you try MILD or WILD? You should normally sleep for 8 hours at least, otherwise you might become exhausted and won't get enough sleep. Napping might be possible, but a deep night's sleep is best.

Current LD goal(s): Have a lightsaber duel with a DC.

I think that 1-2 hour naps could make it more difficult to fall asleep once you go to bed for real. 30 minutes should be enough (?). There are several lucid dreaming nap hypnosis's (30 minutes) on youtube. smile

Current LD goal(s): To have a lucid dream.
