Movie Thread!-Part 2

Why is the Russian always the bad guy? I mean, come on! They’re not all that bad.

I’m not a communist or anything. I’m a foreign language major with an emphasis on Russian and I noticed there are so many movies where Russians are the bad guys. Why don’t we have an Australian bad guy or a Norweigan bad guy, or a Chilean bad guy? Just curious.

I found Donne Darko tp be a most tiresome film. Too many words in the script.

Too many? Did you understand the movie?

There’s no sterotype, just coinsidence, Russians are just big :content:

Of course I understood the film Donne Darko, but I found it to be most tiresome. Too many words.
Also I would like to disagree with those who say that books are better than the films. I found that in some cases, the opposite is true.

Anyone seen Dancer In The Dark? It’s an amazing film.

No never hear of it :eh: , fill us on

I forgot one new movie, that i wanted to see, the Exorcist. I liked the first and the 3rd, so why not the new one? Anyone see it?

Here’s a review of the film. Bjork plays the main character. The story is the most tragic and emotional one I’ve ever seen.

btw - I only saw the first Exorcist. I love horror films

Has anyone seen “Watcher in the Woods”?

I haven’t seen it in a while… I can’t believe Disney made it! (creepiest PG movie out there… or maybe it was because I was young)

I just watched 2001 Space Odyssey for school, its a bit freakyer then I remember… Lot of symbolism n stuff… I like the parts with the monkeys the best! lol

I read the review (thanks) the movie seems very depressing. Never heard of it, and i never knew that Bjork acts. Maybe someday I’ll see it.

Yeah, horro films used to be my favorite, but it seems like there’s been a drought, i havent seen a decent horro movie in ages. If you can name a recent one, I’ll kiss you :bored:

Nope never heard of it :eh:

Great movie, very long  , but in the end its worth it. I like the end, when the computer starts thinking on its own and starts creating trouble for the crew. Stanely Kubrick makes great films, thats a good one, my other favorite from that director is a Clockwork Orange. Very long and crazy, but so good

No new movies here  , looking out though

My friend says he saw this porno movie, “A Clockwork Orgy” so you can put that on your list

It’ on

No new movies here, just stuck on Revenge Films, I’m trrying to get Eternal Sunshine on the spotless Mind on dvd, but my new brother hasnt bought it yet, so… I can’t wait, and im excited.

Other than that, where are the new, good, movies? Someone tell me! Now!

The GreATesT Movie around TodaY???!!

THE FORGOTTEN

Its REallly good…seriously. 4 those who r sceptical of course of the movie…GO c It!..u wont regret it! It has some veRy unexpected twists in there >…VeRy koool stuff. Its also Not a movie wher eu have to pay So much attention to…be aware if u dOnt tho

My movie! thread! its been to long.

Alright , it’s time for a collection of the new and the greatest movies. In theaters, i saw, Blade 3, and The life Aquatic with Steve Zissossu(not sure if thats spelled right). Well Blade 3 wasnt the greatest, it was ok, good affects , better ideas, but the story sucked. They could of picked up more on the story or spend a little more time on the story. The Life Aquatic was great! I loved it ! I couldnt get enough of it, i saw it twice. I like the director’s style, it really grabs my attention and the movies has so many funny scenes and jokes. There like captain obvious jokes, very literal and obvious. Plus i love Bill Murray:)

For dvd’s, i just bought Troy, Virtuosity, and Breakfast Club. Troy was incredible, great story(thanks Homer) well written, well directed, very nice scenes, i just wish the acting was good as everything else. I like Brad pitts role, he kicked ass and killed alot. This movie was a winner just b/c i love greek mythology so much. Virtuosity is just fun to watch, it wasnt to big and havent caught many eyes, but i liked it. And the classic Breakfast Club, at this point in life, the movie just fell into place, and makes me feel good in ways i cant describe, that movies really sends a good feeling. I wish more movies were like that one, characters, story, morals, ideology, such smart and down to earth, everything you could like in a movie.

Well thats the load off my mind from the last 2-3 months or so . . . Have you see anything good? and what do you think about this new Kenau Reeves movie? ( :bored: )

I went 2 go c…darness i think it was called and in my opinion it was the worst movie i have ever seen. There were Some but few ‘scarry’ and surprising scenes but the rest was just ‘OK’. It was a pretty ok movie overall. Some parts were very stupid tho. The ending in my opinion also sucked :I

Ive been wanted to go c white noise, the grudge and hide and seek…donno which 1 is the best tho. Ive heard all kinds of diff opinions on all of these. Im leaning towards hide and seek tho…ill tell u ppls how it went maybe when i c it if i do.

Hubbs:
I HAve seen the preview for the new keanu reeves movie and i think its GooD! Think i might want 2 c that too…any1 else?

Alright, Kat you named all the new age horror movies, and im not sure if i have the guts or nerve to see any of them. The only reason why, im not really shocked or scared or suprised with these new movies . They dont give that chill like all the old ones that i used to love watching. I cant think of the last horro movie tht i actually liked. Event Horizon! it was a sci-fi Horror. But i head good things about hide and seek, if anything we need more opinons to make that decision. Is that the one with Robert Deniro?

I dont think to highly of the new Reeves movie, i just dont get it  , maybe it will turn out to be a good movie, i dont know, we’ll see :peek:

Yea i guess i do agree w/ u on that 1 Hubbs. A great example IS even horizon! I just watched taht 1 like the day b4 lol its still on my mind…it was really great tho

Im going to c Hide and seek 2daY!! Ill tell u my opinion on it…Robert Denero …reallY?

LOl i didnt quite understand the preview thing on the new keanu movie either! My 1st impression on it is good tho…but 1st impressions r NeVer what they seem!..so we WiLl c!

Well, this last weekend I went to see “The Incredibles” and I loved it! It had me laughing very hard throughout the movie, but was also very touching at times. (I’m a sap) I can’t wait until it comes out on video because I will get it.

I really don’t like horror movies. Some of them are okay as long as they have a resolving ending (unlike nighmare on elm street shudders)

This winter I went to see “National Treasure” (8 out of 10 stars), “Lemony Snickets” (also 8 out of 10), and “Elektra” (6.5). I’m easily amused to I liked all of those movies. Also, I went to see them with my boyfriend and so that’s always an added bonus  I want to see the one with Keanu Reeves, not because he’s anything special, but because the story looks interesting. It’s not one I would insist people go with me to, but chances are I’ll like it to some degree.

-Amé

I went 2 go c ‘hide and seek’ last night and i must say i was teRRiBly dissapointed! Out of 10 i give it a -1 :I Some parts (2) were “scarry” and surprising at same time but the rest were very mormal. In my opinion it was just like any other NoRmal movie sigh…what else can i expect from “scarry” movies -_- I DID like the twist in the end thO!

A new movie w/ vin diesel(from XXX) is comming out called tha ‘pacifier’. Its the cutest and funniest movie Ever in my opnion lol! Id definitelly rent this 1

I saw a more indepth preview of “ConStantine” (keeanu reeves movie!!) and it looks gooD and scarry like shi*!! Cant waIt to c it! Donno when its comming out tho -_-

One last movie id like 2 mention: i think it was called ‘kingdom of heaven’ looked good 2

Im not sure what to think entirely about the animation movies, usually that company that made the incredibles are good, i just never have the will power to go out to the theaters. National Treasure actually looked ok, the story line seemed a little to ridiculous but other than that, i liked where it was going. Lemony Snickets looks cool, im just a fan of Tim Burton’s films, i like the style of his movies, he always brings a good feeling. Elektra, i know im going to see it, i definitely dont want to waste any money on it, but anything with marvel on the title wins me.

I just bought American Pie, i fulfilled my collection with the American Pie family. The War of the worlds, i saw that movie when i was in Middle school and i loved it, i have good feelings and thoughts towards the new one, especially that Steven Speilberg is directing it, i think Tom Cruise is staring. Hitchhiker’s guide looks very interesting; i have no idea what its about, except the main concept. What about the aviator? what do you think?? I heard good reviews and such, whats the word?

So many movies, not enough time :content:
