windows program

does aqnyone actually know how to “create” a program in windows?

Ya sure, but if you want to make one which is any good, it’ll cost you a bunch of hundred pounds for the tools.

If you’ve become interested in computer science, I suggest learning Scheme (computer language). If you’re mathsy and want to do theory, that is. :smile:

Don’t discourage him, there are many free tools, for example old versions Delphi and C++Builder (at Borland’s website, I think)

If you want to create a windows program, you’ll have to program it using a programming language. There are very many languages in use, you’ll need to find one that suits you.

If you just want to make a simple windows program, I suggest you use something like Visual Basic, it’s very easy to use. Other than that, C and C++ are the most common programming languages worldwide, although they are more difficult to both learn and use.

I use a program called “Visual Basic” to create programs. Though if you want to learn a good language. Look at C++. If you are unsure of how programs are actualy made, then I will tell you now. As you proably know, computers work by the processor executing instructions. A “program” holds instuctions.

These instuctions are essiantly binary (after the program is compilied and made). However, people have made it easier (or harder) by adding more human languages. For example is it more easy to work out what the binary is for loading target liaberies so that you can use an “if statment” (a statment that compares values), or just to write “If bllaaa=blla…”. If you are good at logic and being good at picking up languages helps, although is not essential.

You can decode it hear: https://nickciske.com/tools/binary.php

If you want to do theoretical stuff and maths stuff, go get “DrScheme” (search the web) and read Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (very hard fast) or How to Design Programs (easier learning curve)

I’m fourteen and managed only one or two chapters of the first book, but the second one is easier :smile:.

oh man TechnoDreamer, decoding that gave me a good laugh :rofl: . its true tho, sad but true.

blazinfish with that encouragement you’ve ruined the whole thing for anybody who decodes it from now on! :tongue:

blah, you’re just a bunch of idiots with nothing better to do but program and code.

here’s part of the C language:

printf(“YOU STINK GOOD, enter a number from 1-10”);
prints that message in quotes in the dos prompt…
scanf("%d", &x);
waits until you enter a number and press enter
printf("%d <—thats what you entered, you stinker", x);
prints the number you entered plus whatever else is in that quote except for “%d”… that’s only part of it, you have to begin the program and end it too. You just have to learn the right things to type to get it to do what you want when you compile it… I suggest starting out with a nice and easy language that’s common… maybe VB like everyone else said… it’s no picnic, I really hated learning C and gave up after printf and scanf (the first few pages…) hehe

Why not use ascii letters? It’s 16 times more compact than hexadecimal. :happy:

edit: Ok, I take that back. Although the high limit for numbers in ascii is 16 times more than in hex, ascii is still only twice as compact when written.

Why not learn “Ook#”? This is how a program looks:

Ik zal schreeuwen :cry:

hehe reading this post made me remember a cool sig i saw a long time ago, it read like

“There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who can read binary code and those who cant”

wonder if the binaries accurrate…lol
