Email Warning :/

Ok apparently a lot of people told me that my rainbow(at)dm7.net is being used to spread the virus around. I have no control over my email anymore since my hosting box that I’m on is hacked. I can’t even access my emails from dm7.net domain, so please IGNORE my address unless notified otherwise. Do NOT open any .exe files there. Do NOT open any attached files.

In other word, ignore my email for now. I’m using dreammaster_light(at)hotmail.com for now. Please contact me from there (replace (at) to @).

If anyone know any cheap and STABLE web hosting company, please let me know. And make sure they’re not going to rip me again ok? I have been ripped three times and I’m getting tired of it. TheAvatar told me about his web hosting company, but I’d like to research more and find a good one… this one is the worst one I ever been on. I wish I never did transfer.

I miss being able to use rainbow(at)dm7.net and now it’s being used to spread virus around. It’s not good. Again, INGORE any of my whatever(at)dm7.net emails. I have no access to any of whatever(at)dm7.net emails and it’s possible that they use my email to use random names at dm7.net domain name. I only use hotmail.com from now on until further notices. Thanks.

Sorry about that. Please let everyone know as possible about this. I don’t want everyone to have a nightmare with virus at all. Thanks again.

Dm7

Sorry to hear about your hosting account DM7. I saw this thread last time I logged in here but I didn’t know anything about any ‘virus’ being sent prior to that. Now I find my hotmail email account has allegedly been used, no trace of any activity from my hotmail account…so hmm?

I did get my first influx of spam into that account, a few days ago. Before that it was subscriber e-mail and personal e-mail only. Maybe someone was testing the validity of the account so it could be used for something else?

One of the spam emails I received was in Dutch I think, so I had no idea of the content, the other was a .zip file of a pornographic nature, I deleted both after reading the emails and they have been cleared from my trashcan so I have no idea about who or where they came from.

I don’t want to be an alarmist, hopefully most people will be clever and not open any unwanted emails.

I know there have been a few members having email problems a few months back, with the email address they posted on this site.

So just for future reference, do not open any emails you get that are sent from me unless I have otherwise alerted you to the fact that I have sent you one or unless I regularly email you on a personal level. I do not use email as a communication tool too often and I certainly do not send anything other than graphics (which can be done in PM so I don’t have to email) or text.

Fey~

are you guys sure it’s not the my doom virus?

it’s sends itself as a “message couldn’t be delivered” mail and creates a fake sender either at random or from someone elses addy book.

If it is the mydoom then the “senders” addy is NOT where the mail was sent from.

Are many people there receiving viruses from ld4all addresses?
I got from DM7, Reality.Failure, now similar mail from mikew@dvol.com - i think it’s also someone from ld4all…

I’ve had one. but I didn’t have my email address showing for long.

:…:

Ohh dear I m so sorry your site was ripped.

Courage dear.

Hmm that doesn’t sound good at all DM7 :bored:

i got a lot of message couldn’t be delivered mail, but since i get those anyways (from ppl who register on the forum with a fake email - the activate registration mail is then bounced back to me) i didn’t notice if it was a fake sender or not.

having said that, yesterday i cleaned up my desktop computer because it was running terribly slow and it had only 20.000 something viruses detected

so it is now cleared and cleaned and protected. But it could be that it was from my computer without my knowing. But that is also weird because the only email adresses from members i have are those which didn’t work in the first place.

anyway it is always a good idea to scan for viruses and get a firewall.
if you don’t have one go to zonelabs.com and download the free zonealarm.

also if you aren’t sure what’s going on on your computer (you can press ctrl-alt-del ONCE and you see all the processes running), on this site answersthatwork.com you can find those things and they tell you what it is and if it is virus related or not. Great site, it is very useful.

oh and dm7, hostforweb.com is where ld4all is hosted and if you are satisfied with that go with them  I won’t recommend them hearthily because they had the server crash due to a hack attack (14 days of posts lost) and recently everything was slow, but they are very customer friendly and overall their performance is great.

if you decide to go for them don’t forget to mention “ld4allco” as a reference, so i get a discount

sounds like pasquale got mydoo hehehe. The emails send as a returned mail with attachment (claiming to be the returned mail)

word of warning outlook often opens attachments automatically it’s best to set outlook to not allow dloading of attachments.

Outlook > Tools > options > Security tab > “click - do not allow attachments to be save that could be viruses” > apply > ok

now all the attachment features will be greyed out and stop accidental infection. However to open real attachments that you’re expecting you will have to untick the box again.

---- Personally i use Zone Alarm Pro much better and safer than the free version. and also AVG virus scanner, i used to use mcafee but it killed my computer when i uninstalled it :grrr:

did she? I got a wholelotta virused spam (none from DM7 though) and none of my friends seem to be getting this.

What does “site got ripped” mean? Does that mean someone like stole it or something? :eh:
